Happy Thanksgiving!
Just a quick entry to wish everyone (and their families, friends, and acquaintances) a very happy Thanksgiving! 🦃🍽
My family and I have a very long list of things to be thankful for – too many to write about when dinner is waiting on the table – but I do want to recognize how thankful I am for all of you, who are helping us to test this new site and bring OD back.
Thank you so much to all of you, and have a happy and healthy holiday!

Happy Thanksgiving to you!!!!
Those carrots look lovely. My father in law made some yummy purple carrots he got from his local farmer’s market 🙂
They actually were not the carrots we ate for Thanksgiving, these ones were in the Union Square greenmarket a couple weeks ago – but we did have very similar ones today!

I would say thanks in Hawaiian if I knew how!

When do you intend to go public?
We have a couple key pieces of work to complete before we go public – the largest one is the Members Only privacy settings, which Engineering is working on now. I’m hoping for sometime in the next couple weeks, but that work has to be completed and tested first.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! It’s not Thanksgiving for me – mine was in October (I’m in Canada), but I wanted you to know how thankful I am that you are bringing the OD back to life! It has been missed by many, I can assure you, and it was something that helped many of us get through difficult times in our lives. Thank you for your hard work and your efforts — you created a magical place here in the OD, and it’s wonderful to have it back!! <3
Thank you for the nice note, I love to think of it as a magical place!

A very happy thanksgiving to you and yours – hope you had a lovely celebration!
And now, a question: this might just be me being very unobservant or stupid (it has been known!!), but when I leave a private note for someone, how can I tell it has definitely gone through as private when it appears on their diary? Obviously I have to tick the “private” box when I add the note, but once it is published, I can’t see any symbol denoting it is indeed private – everything looks the same as a public note. Am I missing something? Thanks!
I had the exact same issue last night. Can we make sure that there is an icon or some visual confirmation that it is private?
@asilliamagdalene @lawhussy yes, we already have a ticket in to add a “private” icon to private notes that you will see when you leave it. Several people have asked for that!
Fantastic, thanks!
@thediarymaster A follow up question: a lot of my old entries that have been restored had private notes on them – as far as I can tell, those notes are now all public. Is there a way I can make those notes private again or would I have to privatise the entire diary entry?
@lawhussy could you send the link to one of those entries to us through the Contact Support link down below? I’d like to take a look, because he notes should have come in as private too.
@thediarymaster Thanks! Before I do that, though, it occurs to me that I may have got confused about this due to the sort of related issue of not being able to see if the notes I leave on other diaries are private or not (when I intended them to be private). If I see a closed padlock next to a note that was left for me, does that mean it’s private? If so, then the old notes that should be private look as though they are, so you can ignore the query I raised about inherited privacy. Sorry for any confusion caused!
