Hospitals Suck

Sorry, I’ve been gone for a bit. I got put in the hospital at my last doctor’s appt. My blood sugar was outrageous. So I spent seven fun filled days and nights in the maternity ward listening to alll the new moms bond with their babies. I was jealous. My doctor came in every day to jump my ass about my sugar. Even on the horrid hospital food it was still jumping. Now I take two kinds of insulin. Not that the shots are a big deal or anything, but it just gets really old having to stab yourself. Two injections and at least four tests a day. It starts to wear on your nerves a bit. I am being good though. I make sure I portion all of my food. I don’t touch coke. I can’t even look at sugar. I gave away all of my Valentine’s candy. Ohhhhhhh. Chocolate. All gone. Give me a minute to cry. (Sob…sob..sniff…sniff.) Okay. That mood swing passed. I have to go to the doc on Wed. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Hope that things are more stable this at your next doctors visit. Is it normal to put you on the “baby ward” when you haven’t yet given brirth?

Oh man, giving up sugar would be SO hard! But it sounds like you’re doing really well! Just keep in mind it’s for the baby! That should make things easier. 🙂

My mom has been diabetic since she was 5 and unfortunately when I was born I didn’t get it. I’ve heard, though, that it’s possible for a pregnant woman to develop diabetes. Is that true? I just found out that Im pregnant and so far it hasn’t been fun! But Im only in my second month so Im figureing it will get better. I hope you get feeling better!

oh man im sorry about your hospitial visit!!! i hope everything goes okay and you are all better! You poor thing. I can’t believe the doctor would yell at you even when you’re eating the hospital food. Obviously, if your sugar is still high on the hospital food, it’s not YOUR fault!!
