♥ Update on me: I’m ok. My doctor is finally doing something to check on my heart after everything I’ve told him in the past about the fluttering feelings I occasionally get. We’re not certain the monitor will even catch anything because these don’t happen very often- but I’m crossing my fingers it happens when I’m wearing it and they can finally tell me what’s going on. I had to go to the hospital today to book my appointment to get it put on. Thursday January 31st at 9am I have to go and get it to wear for 48 hours. She told me they’re not even noticeable- which is good, because I work on the Friday.
♥ Update on Ed: He sent me a message yesterday morning (before my doctors appointment and my own news) and told me the following:
"I have to tell you something"
"I’ve been having some complications since last year. After seeing my doctor and having several MRI’s, I find out that I’m gonna require surgery to fix the problem- brain surgery. It was supposed to go down in July, but they postponed it. I just learned that it’s going down in 6 days, so I’m gonna be out of commission for about 10 days or so. :("
Cue me freaking out and asking what the hell he’s talking about.
"Well, every time I sneezed or coughed or anything needing to flex my core, I’d get a sharp electrical pain going down my left arm. Very painful!! To the point that I was scared to sneeze or doing anything of that nature. So I told my doctor who thought I had nerve damage, so I went for 2 MRI’s and a bunch of testing. It so happened that I had a build up of spinal fluid and it’s blocking my nerves from acting properly. It’s called a chiari malformation and if left unchecked, I could lose the use of my limbs. fun times. so I have to go in and fix all that."
so uh.. that’s fun. We’re planning to get together tomorrow and Monday- but let’s be honest.. I’ll be lucky to see him at all with his track record of cancelling.
We did have a great day of communication yesterday though. We talked almost all day long- back and forth about everything. His health, then I told him about my health and how I happened to have a Dr appointment.. then I told him what happened after. We talked about movies (he loooooved Django Unchained and I should see it, apparently) and had a long discussion about the actor and actress we thought were the greatest of our generation. I SO enjoy just talking to this guy- he’s just an interesting person with intelligent thoughts. I’m glad he’s got his phone back.
Hoping u get some answers about your heart. It’s about time the doc took u seriously! -Wow…brain surgery??!!! That’s scary. Hope his recovery is quick & the problem is fixed. That’s so crazy!!!

My grandma and my mother both have arhythmias (caused by completely different things) and neither were diagnosed until they were in a hospital while it was happening. I don’t mean to scare you, I just mean that next time it happens, immediately go to the hospital and have them check you out. it might be the only way to suss out the problem. – Noah
