A product that WORKS!

♥ As you may remember, I decided in the summer to go back to blonde hair. I was born a blonde and stayed blonde until i was in about grade 8- that’s when it started to darken and i decided to dye it blonde. I stayed a dyed blonde until I was done college, then made the move to red (which turned orange and was SO ugly), then dark brown, almost black, pink, brown, auburn and red. This change back to blonde was exactly what I needed! I have come to the realization that I am meant to be blonde- even if that means I have to dye it.

Which brings me to that.. having to dye it on a regular basis to keep it looking nice. Ugh. What a pain! By the time summer was over, I was thinking I would have to get back to my salon and have them touch up my roots asap. There was nothing I was dreading more than a skunk line along my roots!!

Before I made the appointment though, I decided to try something I found at the local Shoppers Drug Mart. I wasn’t sure it was going to do much for me, but it was cheaper than buying a box of dye or going to the salon, so I picked some up.

It’s a controlled lightening spray, meant to be used on already blonde-ish hair (or really, any hair that isn’t too dark) to lighten up the roots, or add highlights. You’re supposed to spray it on towel dried hair and then use heat to get it really working. I always blow dry my hair, so I tried it immediately! I sprayed some on my roots where I part my hair usually and around the front of my face along the roots and then blow dried.

I wish I had taken before and after shots because guys… this stuff WORKS!

It says it makes a difference in about 5-10 uses, but after the first use I noticed a difference and after only 2 uses my friends were commenting on my hair being lighter! I’ve used it about 4 or 5 days now and I don’t need to really. I give a quick spray on my roots all over and a couple of quick shots on my hair over all and then blow dry. It’s natural looking and it matches my blonde colour PERFECTLY.

No need to go to the salon for a touch up now! Money well spent and it’s SO much easier to keep the blonde under control.
