I need a date!

 Dear Diary;

These are the days when we learn of family engagements on Facebook instead of a phone call. It could be true, or maybe not, I have yet to hear any form of confirmation via telephone from anyone. It appears, however, that my cousin is engaged. Michael, who is the only other cousin my age on my dad’s side of the family might be tying the knot.

If it is the case, I refuse to go to the wedding without a date. I’ve been to far too many events where people have continuously asked me if I was seeing anyone and being the ripe ol’ age of 28, I don’t think I’ll be able to take it one more time. Not having a significant other or even a date to an event on my dad’s side of the family is frowned upon. 

Sigh. where am I going to find a date?
