Lead foot.
Dear Diary;
I got my first ever speeding ticket tonight on my way home from work.
I left work really late because we were gabbing. I usually leave by 6-6:05… it was coming up 6:45 by the time I walked to my car. I was tired and hungry and I just wanted to get home. I pretty much drove the way I always do- except at one point I turned up a really good song and kicked my shoes off and didn’t realize I was going quite fast. By the time I saw the cop car coming in the other direction, tucked in behind another vehicle, it was too late. I saw him do a quick U-turn and start to follow me and I of course slowed right down.. he followed me for about a minute before he turned on his lights.
My heart dropped and I was about to cry. I held it together while he asked me where I was going and coming from and if I knew I was going 116 in an 80. Whoops! No actually, I didn’t know I was going THAT fast. I could swear I wasn’t over 100…
I didn’t start crying until he told me that going that fast over the limit is a $250 fine and 4 demerit points. I got really lucky though and he told me he was only going to write down that I was going 95 in an 80- which is $60 and no points at all. I cried on the way home and saw about 12 more cop cars between that spot and home. It was like they were all out trying to fill their ticket quota. The ridiculous part is that all the way home, I drove 80 and EVERY car passed me at wild speeds.
Just not my lucky day.
You cried? I wonder if I cried would he drop the fine and make it no points? LMAO NO …Ah another reason women have it better….

that stinks 🙁 It was nice of them to knock it down for you. Here they won’t give you a ticket unless you’re going 22kmh+ over the speed limit because it costs more for the judge to sit in court than they make off the fines.

wow how lucky he didn’t nail you for the whole $250 ticket. But getting tickets at all sux. I don’t even have an area near me where the speedlimit is 80! So I never go 80! Sometimes 75 in a 65 on a highway.

I hate getting speeding tickets. Not only the cost, but the embarassment. Everyone seems to drive faster than the speed limit these days.
