Once more, with feeling.

I guess I’m determined to get this picture taken. Here’s what I just posted one facebook:

Okay, so here’s the deal. Have you read the paper lately? Did you catch the article about the photo contest? If you didn’t, it’s a contest where you can submit a photo of how you see Perth and if it gets choosen, it could be on the cover of a tourist guide.

I want to enter.

Here’s the problem- the deadline is FRIDAY at 5pm. I know, I’m a procrastinator. I didn’t get the idea for the photo until just a couple of days ago though. I’d been racking my brain trying to figure out what I could take a picture of that would stand out from all the others and it finally occurred to me that what makes Perth so great isn’t a statue of Big Ben or a pretty maple tree in the park- it’s the people. The community.

Suddenly I could picture it. THE picture I wanted to take was right there in my brain and all I have to do is put it together and make it real. I drew a sketch of what I wanted (even though I can’t draw people to save my life) and I started thinking about how I would get at least 25-30 people to show up.

This is where YOU come in. I need you. I need you and your families and friends. I need children and adults, men and women, teenagers and business people, elderly couples and heck, if you’ve got a dog- I’ll take that too.

It won’t take up a lot of time and it doesn’t cost anything. I just need you to show up at the Tay basin behind the crystal palace at 5pm on Wednesday- rain or shine (hopefully shine, but if it rains, just wear a rain coat or bring a colourful umbrella). I might even bake cookies.
