Well no wonder I couldn’t see…
Dear Diary;
So apparently, I’ve developed a bit of an astigmatism. I went to pick up my new glasses today and when I put them on everything was weird looking. Things weren’t in focus and my eyes are STILL adjusting to them (and not easily, I have to say). Everything is sort of… weird and blurred. No.. I don’t know how to describe it. I have to really stop and focus to be able to see anything… I find myself squinting when I’m wearing the glasses. I don’t know if this is normal or not, but I’ll give it some time and see if my eyes adjust. If everything is still wonky come Friday, I might go back and have them re-check everything cause seriously… it just doesn’t seem quite right.
My eyes, as I expected, have gotten progressively worse over the years. My prescription changed A LOT. My left eye is really, really bad. My right eye has been doing most of the work for the past few years. I didn’t notice until I got in there and couldn’t even see the TOP line of letters on the chart with my left eye. No joke.
Anywho… it’ll be nice when my eyes actually adjust and I can see straight. I hope this is normal.
Job interview tomorrow. If nothing else, it’ll be a bit of pocket change for a while.
Good luck with the job interview tomorrow. I have an astigmatism and it definitely can affect your vision (although sometimes it doesn’t actually get in your line of vision, so you may have one and not even know it). I wonder if you may need bifocals. I had them when I was in my late twenties. My eyes needed two different kinds of lenses for close-up reading and then for distance. Bifocals are another lens presecription sort of “set inside” your regular eyeglass prescription. When you read, you look through the lower lens and when you’re doing every day things, you look through the main part of the lens. Hopefully, your eyes will simply adjust after a few days and all shall be well and you’ll be seeing again!!!

Well, last time I got new glasses, it was the same thing: I had waited WAAAAY too long and my prescription had changed a lot. It took me about a day to get used to them. So, I think it’s normal. If it still feels weird after a couple days, get rechecked.

sounds like my eyes – I’m actually legally blind – I wouldn’t even walk around my own home without glasses anymore. All I see are colors really lol thank goodness for glasses!
