Eyes

 Dear Diary;

My eyes are driving me insane. I don’t think I’ve ever had so much trouble seeing in my life.

I have glasses. These glasses were supposed to originally help me see the black board when I was in school because I couldn’t see things that were far away. When I was in college (6 years ago) I had my perscription updated and changed and I got new glasses because I was having trouble seeing things again. I wear these glasses for everything from being on the computer (I’m wearing them now) to watching tv, to driving at night and so on.  I am way BEYOND needing to get my eyes checked again.

My vision is blurry on a good day. Lately, I’ve been getting dizzy pretty often and I have a headache almost every day. It’s not good. I was out the other day with my mom and we were at the grocery store and I couldn’t focus on ANYTHING. every single thing I looked at- near or far- was blurry and I had the sensation on having like.. vaseline over my eyes. Does that make sense? Things are foggy.

The headaches and dizzyness are what’s making me most concerned. When I was in grade 10- that’s when I first went to the eye doctor. I went after I had the most insane vertigo you could imagine. I don’t remember anything from my class that afternoon except crying at my desk and feeling like the world was spinning around me. I fell down twice on my way to my last class and my teacher sent me to the office to call for someone to pick me up because I was useless. It was horrible and the dizzyness didn’t go away for the next 24 hrs.

The dizzyness I have now isn’t that bad at all, but every no and then I get that "whoa…" feeling- like when you stand up too fast. I had to take a gravol yesterday because it was so bad.

Ugh. The eye doctor is EXPENSIVE and not covered by ohip anymore. An appointment alone (without buying frames or glasses) is $200 and I just can’t afford that at all. If I get a job (and I hope I do soon) it’ll be the first thing I start saving for.

On the glasses side, I got my latest pair online. Good deals.

Not sure where you got that quote, but I’d shop around some more. That’s way more expensive than I’ve ever paid, and I’ve been in glasses with a new script every year since 6th grade. My last exam at Sears was free with the purchase of one pair, and a lot of places will let you do a payment plan. Your vision is just too important to put off! 🙂

Your eyes are so very important, can your Mom and Dad help with the cost so you can get an eye exam. I’d hate to have any kind of permanent damage be caused from waiting to see the eye doc. I’m concerned.

You need to go to a different eye doc…the most they’re supposed to charge for the appt is $80.

Wholly crap, dude. It’s $40 for an eye exam out here at Walmart…and the specialty places (like LensCrafters or other eye places I cannot think of) isn’t much more than that; like $50 and $60/appt. That is ridonkulous.

Maybe you should go do it in the states. Its only like 50 bucks there… Feel better soon…

$200 is way too much! My Dr. is only about $100 for a visit.I would keep looking.
