Big earthquake in Christchurch this weekend…I have family who live there but all are safe and sound. Such destruction on buildings, roads and the infrasture that it will take some time to make things right. Spent most of Saturday just watching the news as it all unfolded….makes us realise how very unprepared we would be if it happened here to us….even down to where are the torches??? That will change over the next few weeks.

Well I never…..never….never have I been told I have to take a holiday, we have a new policy at work…you must take 10 consecutive days of annual leave in a twelve month period and I only took 7…therefore didn’t meet policy and now I have to take more time off……I’ve just had 6 weeks off…ok…so it was because I had to recover from surgery but for goodness sakes!!!

so now we are taking a screw you holiday….at the end of November….and we are heading of to OZ again. This time we are going to fly into Sydney and then hire a car and drive to Melbourne.

I have to say….I’ve never resented going on holiday before…and its taken me a few days to get over the ….humph mood…but now…I’ve moved into the ….looking forward to going mood. Will even meet someone we know from facebook and someone we know from open diary…really looking forward to that part of the holiday 🙂

We did look at other options but the money we would have to spend made it unrealistic….after all we are meant to be saving up for a big trip to Taiwan next year. Its going to take a bit extra effort now to achieve but we have 12 months to save up for it.
