Changes

We are changing banks!! Now I know that most people probably think this is one of the worst tasks in the entire world, having to change salary’s over, direct debits, AP’s and the getting new cards timing it all to fit together etc etc, but I must say I’m absolutely loving it cause it means I get to leave the bank that over 5 years ago bought the bank I was working for and took it backwards by 20 years!!!

Still met a nice personal banker yesterday (yes this bank is open in the weekends!) she was winding up to do the big sales job by saying they ring us twice a year to make sure everything is ok and that the accouts are the best for us when djd sort of bought it to a head by saying summit like “yeah its good for your sales”. She’s pretty young really and didn’t know how to take the tounge in cheek comment but managed to recover and carry on. But to add insult to injury she was about to launch into the “this is how your accounts work” when I launched into the “I used to work for a bank so know all about it”. DOH twice in one day to be shot down!!!  But to give her her dues she muddled thru, and at the end of it she made no sales and didn’t push for any, so we were happy.

anyway….while driving over to the bank we looked up at the Rimutaka’s sitting in behind Upper Hutt and couldn’t believe our eyes to see snow on the top!! and not just a splattering but quite concentrated snow! I had been home sick since Wednesday and although Friday was pretty damn cold and I had thought it had hailed at one point, never realised it had gotten that cold. We must write to djd’s neice and let her know what great weather we are having just prior to their arrival here (in a couple of weeks!)

djd has hurt his back, getting old and sitting too long at the pc writing stories about rats if you ask me :)) but anyway its put a end to the weekend activity of getting stuck into the rest of the garden. We have some big plans brewing in our heads about the house, like creating a decking area out the back, putting planter boxes all around the place to replace all the pots, creating a new ranchslider to lead to the deck, getting gas heating put in, curtains in one of the rooms, new seating for one of the living area’s and on it goes, I hope the new bank loves us cause we might have to go get some more money from them to get all these things done before winter sets in.

We’re doing all these things cause we have finally made our minds up to stay here and not sell up and move on. Has taken us sometime to settle on this idea, mainly cause we get so down in this house in the winter, the sun doesn’t hit the right rooms and without proper heating its too cold! So hence all our plans to make it all better and stay put.

SAE has finished her exams, she wants to go back to school next year and do the final year before she settles on what she will then aim for, last thoughts were to be a teacher! Anyway I hope she puts more commitment into the next year than she did with this year, she hardly went always taking days off, and then she had to study like crazy to get ready for the end of year exams.

Thats about it for a round up of general nothingness,

Till next time diary

Don’t you think your cats would love a rat? *grin* And would you like to swap a little of that cold weather for some summer? It was 36 and 34 here the last two days, feels about the same now. I would love to have winter back! Those house alterations sound absorbing; enjoy all the planning! RYN: Yes, I must have touched a chord somewhere! So far that entry has 27 notes!!!!

As a completely unbiased and impartial third party observer, I have one thing to say: “Don’t let him have a rat. Especially not a GIANT one. Or one with a secret pouch.”

I agree with Kemma, although it would make for some good reading. 🙂
