Possum

I hate possums!!

I’ve just been outside as I heard the screeching from the lounge above the noise of the TV! and there he was sitting as pleased as punch in my tree hovering above the lilies and roses!

I hissed at him, nope he didnt move

I clapped my hands, nope he didn’t move

I shone a torch on the wee beastie but no he didn’t move

I got the video camera out and recorded my efforts of trying to scare him away and nope he didn’t move

I threw empty plastic bottles that hold water at him and nope he didn’t move

I rang djd up and asked him what the hell was I going to do?? his suggestion, go out and move the roses (they are only new and sitting in their plastic bags waiting to be planted) my hero……full of such wonderful tips!

Thanks for that, but I did it as the fear of having the roses munched to nothing by the possum out weighted my fear of the beast leaping from the tree onto my head! So out I go with plastic bottle in hand wearing djd shoes as I can’t find mine making this clomp clomp noise as I walk and the possum becomes worried….ah I’m onto a winner me thinks….I stomp my feet a bit more, I bang the plastic bottle against the fence and success the beast runs back into the bush.

And then I move the roses!

and where was my fearless dog? and cat? sitting at the top of the stairs waiting for me to come back inside so they could demand more food!

Till next time diary farewell from the possum chasers rose rescuer scared out of skin McDinzie

Between the dog, the possum, the computer, the rain, the daughter having a new boyfriend and a bad back – wow, you’re getting the full treatment. Hope all gets on track real soon!

Oh, I do hope the sweet little animal didn’t get too great a fright. Such a delightful little mammal; big eyes, soft fur… *grin* Aren’t you glad we shared them with you? I see one in my garden here maybe once in ten years:no problem. But a friend in Melbourne is driven crazy, traps one. drives for miles, releases it (they are a protected species here), traps another, drives for miles… Ugh!

heheh, I can just imagine you….and the animals….they remind me of the way my daughter’s dog slept through the earthquake. Whatever happened to animal instinct? I would have thought the sight of you with curlers in hair, mudpack on your face etc would have scared it away…heheh Glad you saved the roses though. BTW, Who owes who a letter ????? hugz
