Another bad back day!

Its been a age since I wrote anything. DJD was home last week apart from last Monday night and so we spent most of that time together and along with the fact that his computer has died and now we are fighting over the one PC we just didnt seem to spend the time playing around on the pc. But seeing how yesterday in a fit of spring cleaning I seemed to have hurt my back again I am home today feeling sorry for myself and have time on my hands so to speak.

So first catch up the dog! Well what can I say, she went to the vet ever so happy to be going out for a tirp in the car so early in the day, most unexpected. As soon as we got there though and she heard the other dog she started to cry, I was glad to run away to work! That night I picked her up and the vet who clipped her nails tells me that all her quips are blackened and dried up!! They should be nice and pink and healthy but they arnt!! So she was asking a visiting specialist about her and would let me know what he had to say. Well as it turns out she has some form of diease that has turned something in her body against her a bit like arthritis does and this is causing the nails to go like this. He said the most dramatic but most efficient way to treat it is to pull all her nails out and bandage them up and let new growth come thru….this is not an option as far as I am concerned. She had one nail removed the other day when they were clipped and that entire night she did nothing but cry and cry. She wouldn’t even settle down until I lay on my back on the floor and she lay beside me with her head on my shoulder!! There is no way I will pull all her nails!! There is other forms of treatment which this specialist will fax through to my vet but apparently this is not an easy thing to treat. Oh poor baby :((

OH and the rain over Friday and Saturday night, just could not believe the amount.  Driving home on Friday night was awful, couldn’t see a damn thing and slips everywhere. We couldn’t believe it that night when we saw the late news and they said all roads out of wellington were closed. The next day on the news looking at the damage done was unreal and seeing how we know the places they were showing it made it ever so more real. Mind you those corromandel folk will probably say that was nothing :))

I had another quote for the house staining/painting. This guy came and saw us when we were home as he wanted to explain to us that we have a few weatherboards that need replacing around the house before we do the staining and he reckons that painting it wouldn’t do it any justice so better to just re-oil it again. Now having had that bad news delivered his quote was for almost a third of the first quote we got!! and this guy was recommended by somebody I work with who said he does a great job.  You have to wonder how one can go from a $9000 quote to $3800 for the same house!!! Guess who we will be going with, only hassle now is having to get somebody to come look at the boards! It just never ends 🙁

SAE has finally turned up, I’ve seen her at my work just about every morning but never to stay long or to come home with me.  These school holidays have been spent with the new boyfriend and to make it even worse now he has moved into a flat and away from his parents so no parental control over her when she visits him!!!  Already today she is arguing with me about going over there tonight. Sometimes I become so battle wary that I just give in when I know I shouldn’t.  I feel for solo mum or dads with teenage children they just push and push you to your limits everyday about everything!

I guess I have been sitting here for long enough and I better move around a bit and stretch my back and give it a bit of movement so that it gets a bit better for tomorrow. I will have to go to work as its the last day for one of the managers before she goes on holiday and I will have to do the hand over of work etc and then the boss goes away on Thursday for a couple of days which basically leaves me there and nobody else to fend of the maddening crowd!!

Till later diary

I smiled at you sleeping with her on the floor ( that may explain the bad back!) Glad SAE is ok…teens are such fun, glad mine got through it with my sanity in tacked. (Well, thats MY opinion!!!) ps…..yes, Basil is back to him usual annoying cute self…thanks….and fortunately still loves me!!!

Sympathy for the bad back, the awful weather (we’ve been getting tv reports of it here: why do you have slips when we have landslides?) and the problems of your poor dog. I do hope that all improve quickly.
