touchin base

hello, my poor, sad, neglected diary.  i’m sorry, really i am.  its not you, its me.  i get all sucked into the digital media and social media and i kind of forget about you.  please don’t be mad.  really. 

i got through last week okay.  that’s a big deal.  i started working down in the archives, so i added 20 hours a week to my schedule.  between the 20 i have at the ref desk and the 20 in archives, plus the bookstore.  i had quite a few hours of work last week.  i had monday off.  that was nice.  i wish i could of had today off, too, its a dreary wet, grey, cold day.  a day that is designed for one thing and one thing only: staying home, watching movies and petting a cat. 

i’ve started my job search again. i took time off during the holidays.  i’ve a few that interesting, so i’ll be sending resume, cover letter, etc out with hopes. 

i was watching tv the other night and stumbled upon the Big Lebowski, the tv edit.  heavens. its… different.  some great edits, though.  my favorite is "see what happens when you meet a stranger in the alps, larry?" that from a line of "see what happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass, larry?" yeah. not quite the same punch, but its pretty funny. 

we are cat sitting my aunt’s cat. shs a fat black cat.  which is kind of funny because my cat, Princess Emma Ruler of the Realm, is a skinny white cat.  they are… tolerating each other.  or more to the point Princess Emma Ruler of teh Realm is tolerating the interloper.  its actualy pretty funny. 

guns’ mom is doing okay, i think. i haven’t talked to her, guns that is, since last week sometime. i gave her a call just to see how things were going. 

today is the third anniversay of my dad’s stroke. next month it’ll be three years since he passed. wow, that’s hard to fathom. the time has moved awfully fast…
