Before I forget, here are the answers to yesterday’s LSAT questions.
1.
Harry: Airlines have made it possible for anyone to travel around the world in much less time than was formerly possible.
Judith: That is not true. Many flights are too expensive for all but the rich.
Judith’s response shows that she interprets Harry’s statement to imply that
A.) the majority of people are rich
B.) everyone has an equal right to experience world travel
C.) world travel is only possible via routes serviced by airlines
D.) most forms of world travel are not affordable for most people
E.) anyone can afford to travel long distances by air.

Nutritionists have recommended that people eat more fiber. Advertisements for a new fiber-supplement pill state only that it contains "44 percent fiber."
The advertising claim is misleading in its selection of information on which to focus if which one of the following is true?
A.) There are other products on the market that are advertised as providing fiber as a dietary supplement
B.) Nutritionists base their recommendations on medical findings that dietary fiber protects against some kinds of cancer
C.) It is possible to become addicted to some kinds of advertised pills, such as sleeping pills and painkillers.
D.) The label of the advertised product recommends taking three pills everyday.
E.) The recommended daily intake of fiber is 20 to 30 grams, and the pill contains one-third gram.

Comets do not give off their own light but reflect light from other sources, such as the Sun. Scientists estimate the mass of comets by their brightness: the greater a comet’s mass, the more light that comet will reflect. A satellite probe, however, has revealed that the material of which Halley’s comet is composed reflects 60 times less light per unit of mass than had been previously thought.
The statements above, if true, give the most support to which of the following?
A.) Some comets are composed of material that reflects 60 times more light per unit of mass than the material of which Halley’s comet is composed.
B.) Previous estimates of the mass of Halley’s comet which were based on its brightness were too low
C.) The total amount of light reflected from Halley’s comet is less than scientists had previously thought.
D.) The reflective properties of the material of which comets are composed vary considerably from comet to comet.
E.) Scientists need more information before they can make a good estimate of the mass of Halleys comet.
Logic Games (an easy one, then a hard one)
In October, eight large financial institutions – Aijah House, Barnet Group, Frankie & Sons, Goldin Ketch, Jordan LLC, Lehana Sisters, Merlin Inc, and Stella Moran – will be bailed out by the government. Each institution is bailed out exactly once, and no two institutions are bailed out at the same time. The bailouts proceed consistent with the following conditions:
-Aijah House is bailed out before Jordan LLC
-Goldin Ketch is bailed out before Frankie & Sons
-Barnet Group is bailed out after both Goldin Ketch and Stella Moran
-Merlin Inc is bailed out after Barnet Group but before Jordan LLC
-Barnet Group is bailed out after Lehana Sisters
1. If Goldin Ketch is the fourth institution bailed out, then each of the following must be false EXCEPT:
A.) Lehana Sisters is the third institution bailed out
B.) Frankie & Sons is the second institution bailed out
C.) Aijah House is the fifth institution bailed out
D.) Merlin Inc is the fifth institution bailed out
E.) Stella Moran is the sixth institution bailed out
2.) The fifth institution bailed out CANNOT be
A.) Barnet Group
B.) Frankie & Sons
C.) Lehana Sisters
D.) Goldin Ketch
E.) Merlin Inc
Mr. Mustard works at Rigby’s Aquarium every day, Monday through Friday. He trains six walruses: Anna, Bill, Kite, Lucy, Rocky, and Sadie. Three of them – Anna, Kite, and Rocky – are veteran performers. Two walruses are trained each day, and wach of them is trained at least once during the week according to the following:
-At least one veteran performer is trained each day
-Sadie is not trained on any day before the first day that Rocky is trained that week.
-Lucy is trained both Tuesday and Wednesday.
-Any day on which Bill is trained is the first day during the week that some other walrus is trained
-Of the days Kite is trained during the week, at least two are consecutive
1.)If Bill and Rocky are trained on Thursday, one of the walruses trained on Friday must be
A.) Rocky
B.) Sadie
C.) Bill
D.) Kite
E.) Anna
2.) If exactly one veteran performer is trained each day, which of the following would determine exactly when each of the remaining walruses is trained?
A.) Anna and Bill are trained on Monday
B.) Rocky and Sadie are trained on Friday
C.) Anna is trained on Monday and Thursday
D.) Kite is trained Monday and Thursday
E.) Kite is trained Monday and Friday
I just want to reiterate (since I had a question on it) that in the logic games section, you are not given enough information to actually solve the game before you hit the questions. That’s not the point of the logic games section. The point is to make sure you understand the rules given and what they mean, and then how to apply them to additional given information. So there are questions that test your understanding of the rules and there are questions that give you another piece of information (applicable only to that question) and ask what’s possible based upon the game rules and the new information. If anyone wants explanations on why the answers are what they are, just leave me note – my study books have answer explanations too.
So tonight was the YSA/SA potluck and truthfully it was great. Sister Nelson remarked more than once how glad she was that I went with them. Seriously, I love our new Stake President and his wife. They’re just awesome. So we had dinner first, and then we had the fireside where each of the three members of our new Stake Presidency spoke briefly and then we went back to the cultural hall and had dessert. We sang two songs that I love. The first is For the Beauty of the Earth and the second was Because I Have Been Given Much. And it was wonderful to sit in a congregation and just sing and truly enjoy the hymns. When leading the congregation, I don’t always get to truly enjoy the song so it’s nice every once in awhile to just sit in the congregation and sing. Speaking of singing, I’m meeting with Brianna at some point this week to go over my song again as it’s getting time to sing it at some point. We’ve touched it just the one time. I’m not worried about it, as it’s pretty simple and we didn’t have any problems the one ti
me. But I definitely want to go over it again as it’s been several weeks since we looked at it (as in pre-surgery). But again, I’m not too worried.
"Life is measured not by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."
that’s actually reasonably logical. Much less stupid than the regular SAT was.
