10 Weeks

I thought I’d start this journal entry by commenting on the fact that I’ve been writing for 10 straight weeks now without missing a single day. There have been a few days where I nearly forgot to write before going to bed. But I’m happy to say that I’ve managed to write every single day for 10 weeks.  I’m amazed at how fast it’s gone.  I’ve remarked in recent weeks that individual days drag while weeks tend to go fast and months even faster.  Seriously, where did the year go?  Anyway – 10 weeks.  It’s been good for me and I’ve seen some of the blessings that come.  It’s been a good way to get out some of my frustrations and other trials.  It’s also allowed me to truly see the hand of the Lord in my life.  When I’m writing everyday and then going back and reading what I’ve written, it’s easier to see the hand of the Lord in my life.  Recognizing it in hindsight has made it easier to recognize His hand in my life in my everyday, instead of only seeing it way beyond when it’s happened.

In other news, we officially had our first flurries of the season. Seriously, it’s too early for that nonsense (and I’m not kidding –  it’s earlier than the average by about 2 weeks).

I spent today just doing a lot of nothing. Well, that’s not true.  I’ve been craving some of the music from my high school days, so I went digging through my cd’s and through the iTunes store (for the tracks I wanted but didn’t have) and updated my music library and then my iPod touch.   So now I can listen to the music I’ve been wanting to listen to.  Mostly, I wanted to go back to the Boyband days.  Backstreet just dropped a new album this last week and it got me feeling nostalgic for the good old days.  Brought back a lot of good memories too.  My first concert was an NSYNC concert the summer before my freshman year.  I’ve seen NSYNC twice and saw Jessica Simpson.  The second NSYNC concert was the best, since I also got to see BBMak and Dream at the same time.  It was a blast.  I’d have loved to see 98 Degrees in concert when they were big.  I could still one day see Backstreet Boys, though they’re not so much boys anymore 😛  Plus, they’re minus Kevin these days.  Anyway, I’ve been missing those days.

Really the only other thing going on is that surgery is this next week.  Finally!  Otherwise, I seem to be doing okay 🙂

As I’ve had several new readers since I posted these the first time, I thought I’d post them again.  As I’ve mentioned before, I LOVE singing – especially singing in Sacrament meeting (yes, I know I’m a little strange there).  So here are two clips of me singing for those who don’t have the time or inclination to go digging through my previous entries for them (and you’d have to dig far, given that they’re two years old now).  One is self explanatory – it’s part of the Star Spangled Banner.  The other is part of a song by Sally DeFord (her music is awesome – she writes stuff that I can sing in Sacrament meeting).  Here’s the link (it should open in a new window)

We’re from the same generation. The Backstreet Boys bring a lot of good memories of when I was in high school and in college. I loved their music. I always enjoyed Mandy Moore’s music, too. I try to update my diary on a daily basis and it’s always nice to receive feedback, too. We haven’t had any flurries just yet. We’ve had a lot of rain, though. Daylight’s Savings Time is around the corner. 🙂

October 10, 2009

I’ve been going strong for probably eight or so weeks. Early August. It’s been a good experience for me. Lets me see the day for what it really was rather than never thinking about it again.
