That Reminds Me

The journal jar prompt for tonight is something I’d wanted to mention anyway.  Tony wasn’t my first crush, but it’s still funny.  He was one of the guys I had a crush on through high school.  He was a year younger than me and really cute.  I even got up the nerve to ask him to prom one day after school.  I don’t honestly remember why I was staying after school that day, but I was.  I still have to shake my head and laugh at myself for asking. I got shot down, but at least I had the guys to ask!  Anyway, I saw him in Pick N Save with I think his dad or some other older male relative.  And I have to say, his looks have definitely gone downhill since high school.    I just had to laugh to myself in the store and then later when I got home. 

In other news, GREAT sleeping weather for tonight! Lows in the mid 40’s.  Seriously, our temps are perfect for the next week.  In terms of temperatures, I LOVE fall.  Not so fond of all the rain we seem to get in the fall (and by extension, the cold rain we get!)  Nor do I like that winter follows so close on the heels of fall around here. But still, I love fall sleeping weather.  It’s absolutely terrific!

In work news, Sylvia’s transferring on Monday but Deb’s not leaving us til the following Monday. I’m grateful for that, as it means one more week for Deb to transfer all knowledge of what she does to the rest of us.  I also need to decide how badly I don’t want a phone job.  But you know what, if that’s what my only option is, then that’s where I’ll go.  As Deb and I were talking today, it’s easier to find a new position within the company once you’re in the company, than it is to find a position from the outside looking in. 

Sister Davis and Sister Camilleri were here tonight 🙂 I love them both dearly.  I already can guess that one or both will be by post Surgery to check up on me.  But seriously, they’re terrific.  I know they wonder how much they’re helping me, when I don’t do a lot of the talking, but they make me laugh and that’s what I need right now. I needed the laughs.  I’m a little stressed with work and with my grandparents and with surgery coming up that I just needed to laugh with them tonight.  That also reminds me that I LOVED the lesson for this month.  I need to go find it and put up one of the quotes Sister Davis shared with me.  I like the first part of the quote the best, where we should be like oak trees and have deep roots so that when trials come, we can withstand them.  Great quote!
