Update on Maxie

We did get the test results back on Maxie’s bloodwork.  The only thing even slightly outside the norm was her liver levels, and that wasn’t even enough to worry the vet.  So for now we’re keeping an eye on her.  It seems of late that if we give Maxie her food at the usual time (around 5pm), let her eat what she likes,  then take it up so that Sammie doesn’t get it, and then give it back to Maxie later, she’ll eat it all.  If we decide we want to go farther in terms of tests, the next step is x-rays.  For the moment we’re not going there, but if Maxie starts not eating her food the second time around, I think we’ll end up doing x-rays.  But for the moment, she seems to be okay.

Oh good, I’m glad to hear that the bloodwork results came out okay.

I’m a random noter but I read your entries about Maxie. I know how you feel. I have a Springer Spaniel that’s 13 years old and they typically on average only live to about fifteen. Besides some arthritis in his hips he’s in pretty good shape, but I worry about his health and the idea of putting him down when he can’t function very well anymore. Hope things work out for you and Maxie.

I’m glad it’s nothing serious. Although.. anything out of the norm should be kept a close eye. Have you tried changing her food? Maybe she’ll eat different type of dog food. if you do, you might want to get a small bag just in case. (((((HUGS and kisses for Maxie))))
