More on my birthday

I now also know that we’re leaving home around 8:30 (it’s around a 2 1/2 hour drive to Chicago from here) and that we’re going to get out of Chicago in time to stop by my grandparents’ house on the way home.  Mostly, my dad doesn’t want to get caught downtown around 4 or 5 when people are at the Taste of Chicago and gearing up for the fireworks (Chicago does their 4th of July fireworks on the 3rd).  Truth be told, I’m still clueless as to what we’re doing!  Also, whatever we’re doing isn’t downtown.
