..:::..Grumble..:::..

Seriously, I’m ready for it to stop snowing for awhile!  But that’s not going to happen anytime soon.  I was reading in the paper this morning about how well things are going for those who sell snow removal stuff, whether that’s shovels, snowblowers, or snow/ice melting stuff.  Apparently (and not surprisingly) things are going very very well for them.  Right now it looks like we’re going to get 2-5 inches of snow by late tomorrow afternoon.  *Joy*  Currently we’re sitting at 4*F (-15*C), with a wind chill of -6*F (-21*C)….Here’s the forecast for the next several days…

Today: Cloudy, with a high near 17*F(-8*C). North wind around 6 mph.
Tonight: Periods of snow. Low around 14*F(-10*C). North wind between 5 and 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
Sunday: Snow likely, mixing with freezing drizzle after noon. High near 21*F(-6*C). North wind between 7 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 13*F(-10*C).

DAY ONE…TODAY AND TONIGHT SNOW IS EXPECTED TONIGHT…MAINLY AROUND AN INCH…WITH UP TO 2 INCHES OF ACCUMULATION POSSIBLE…ESPECIALLY LATE.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY SNOW WILL LAST THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING PRODUCING ANOTHER INCH OR TWO OF ACCUMULATION. THERE IS A CHANCE FOR LIGHT FREEZING DRIZZLE OR SLEET TO MIX WITH THE SNOW SUNDAY. THERE IS ALSO A GOOD CHANCE OF AN INCH OR TWO OF SNOW WITH SOME FREEZING RAIN OR SLEET ON TUESDAY. THERE IS ANOTHER CHANCE FOR ACCUMULATING SNOW WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

Keep in mind our usual high for this time is right around freezing and the usual low is around 20*F.  We’ve had 15 inches of snow in the first 7 days of December – our usual total for all of December.  Also keep in mind that Wednesday night into Thursday morning, we got down to -7 or -8  (-22*C).  I think some parts of the area got down to -15*F (-26*C)!  It’s usually another several weeks before we see temperatures below zero at any time.  ..:::..BRRRR..:::..  And of course, as you can see above, we’re going to get more snow this week *joy*.

My sis asked about my grandmother today.  I feel a little guilty that I don’t keep better track of exactly how she’s doing, but *sigh* I would never get anything done if I did that.  I suspect my dad and my aunt talk and email back and forth often, but I really can’t afford to keep asking.  I haven’t been down to visit since the first weekend in November and my parents haven’t been down since Thanksgiving (I was sick, if you recall…if you don’t, just go back to the Thanksgiving entries).  We didn’t go down last weekend thanks to that nasty nasty winter storm and my mom decided earlier in the week not to go today thanks to the storm that was supposed to start around now (instead it’s not getting here til this evening).
