The following may or may not be gibberish to you; anyway, please ignore it as it’s only a test entry I’m doing for the DiaryMaster.

I will write more later.  Hopefully the problem with editing Chinese entries will be solved by then.  Many thanks to the DM for remembering our plea!

Snippets of random thoughts and observations:

  • Spending two weeks in Sichuan is enough to train anyone to tolerate spicy food.
  • Joining a tour guarantees that you will miss most of the good things on a trip.
  • I don’t join tours, so I’m not a tourist.  I prefer to be called a traveller (somehow sounds more romantic).
  • Mainland tourists are more polite than I previously thought.
  • Clean toilets and rubbish-free public areas CAN be found on the Mainland.
  • Speak more Putonghua!  Isn’t it a shame when even non-Chinese foreigners speak better Putonghua than I do?

I couldn’t agree more on your claim about joining tours. How I wish I could convince S too so we wouldn’t have to join the tour everytime we travel. *sigh*

I can’t agree with you more. I like to be a traveller.
