Shall we talk?

My dearest,

Why should death be a taboo subject?  It shouldn’t be.  It’s one of the most important things in life, and certainly the most inevitable.  Why scared?  I don’t actually die just because I talk about it.  Why cry?  I’m not really looking forward to it just because I’m interested in it.  It’s just a lesson I wish to learn.  I need to.  I have to know what I should do.

I can’t keep anything from you.  Not even my thoughts.  You know that.  It’s so hard, suppressing my desire to talk about it.  You can almost say I’m dying to talk about dying.  I’m not being cruel to you.  OK, I know it’s a sad thing, but not necessarily a bad thing.  It helps me live.  Have you forgotten the lessons from The Five People You Meet in Heaven?  No lesson on life is complete without a lesson on death.  And someone is about to learn it, I’m afraid.  I hope I can help him, before it’s too late.

We talk about life.  We talk about love.  We talk about faith.  But we don’t talk about death.  Understand this: to me, all of these are intertwined.  We all die, so life becomes manageable.  We all die, so we dare to love because we don’t want to regret.  We all die, so our faiths don’t sway easily.

I’m waiting.  With lots of tissue, just in case.

Love,
Me

You love ones afraid to hear you talk death because she afraid of losing you. It’s understandable. I mean who wants to losing anything, not to say someone we love. Not everyone is open to talk about death. Why do you have discuss the subject with your dearest if it makes her uncomfortable? It would only scare her.

Talk to someone who is interest in the subject, it will be more inspiring and fruitful.

I think we all need to talk about death. It’s part of life. In fact it gives me relief and comfort in sharing views and thoughts. I think rtalking about it makes me less afraid of it. Sometime I think… I donb’t want to be afraid all my life of death… so I need to educate myself about it. Good luck ((HUGS))

Yes you’re so right. It’s all intertwined and comes inevitably at the end but then to talk about it really has to overcome some more hurdles…Blessings for your student who’s facing such a tragic fate. But with your love and encouragement I think he’ll understand and be brave to face it!
