Remembering CW4 Leslie J. Denk, U.S. Army (Ret.),
One of the story tellers of CID memories of way back when mentioned Les Denk, he was my second OPS at Stuttgart while I was still in my probation year of 1977.
One day while talking to Les in his office the phone rang and he took the call but had me wait. It was the CID powers-that-be trying to get Les to pay back a large some of money for several items not accounted for when he was an evidence custodian in Viet Nam! Les got up, walked to his book case, pulled out a binder marked e…vidence with the date and year on it.
Looked through the evidence documents, told the PTB when he receipted for the evidence, when it was released and who too or when it was destroyed. Then told the PTB to go pick on someone else! Les turned to me and advised me to keep detailed records of all I would be doing cause the PTB are not OUR friends.
