Journals And Notes
Keeping a journal or just jotting down a note or two every day is fun for me.
At lest once a day I sit down and jot down what I have been thinking about so I can check out my thoughts at a later time.
Jotting down my thoughts on note pads is fun but I now have so many note pads that they are not manageable. I have boxes of note pads marked only with the years on the boxes and the dates on the pads. Some one will have fun in years to come reading those note pads.
When I jot down my thoughts on note pads I tend to draw stick figures and use various note taking methods to jot down my thoughts. You know, links, circles, arrows, diagrams, and so on, as well as the occasional stick figure.
Journaling over the years has allowed me to actually win a few contest for my thoughts and my day-to-day ideas. These contest obviously have been more for content than for mechanics since I have never been strong on the mechanics of writing. Ha Ha Ha.
My hand writing has gotten terrible since the entrance of the computer into my life. Computers keep my thoughts legible so all can see what I am thinking and not just guess at what I was thinking when I scribbled those words.
Scribles can be read by me but after so many years and so many scribbles some thoughts from years ago tend to get lost even from me.
Several weeks ago I came across some note pads from 1991 that I used stick figures to capture what I was doing and thinking in those days. I did add some captions but not as much information as I should have. The stick figures in conjunction with the captions paint vivid thoughts that most should be able to read.
Don’t you just hate it when you took the time to jot down your thoughts and in later years no one can figure out what your thoughts were due to cryptic writing or just plain bad handwriting.
