I’m not racist, you’re ignorant.
Day three of Medhia’s new pot of wheatgrass. It’s really starting to sprout nicely.
Today was just a bad day.
I decided to go out for coffee with a friend from Egypt who has a PhD. in some form engennering I don’t understand. We went to the local coffee shop, which is also the college/university hangout.
One of our favourite topics is ancient Egypt. We were discussing how the pyramid texts explain that Kufu merely restored the pyramid as opposed to building it.
Then it happened; again, some white guy turned around and called me a racist for saying that the pyramids were not built by Egyptians.
After a few minutes of him prattling on about how we were both ignorant and racist, my friend informed our would-be guardian of history, that he was, in fact, Egyptian and doesn’t believe ancient Egyptians built it.
As my friend was trying to talk logically and historically, the guy started calling my friend a traitor to his people and not a real Egyptian. Apparently, my friend needs to unlearn the colonial teachings of history and really dig into his roots.
Well, my friend lost it. But before anyone got hurt, the person working at the store threw out the guy and his friends who seemed embarrassed.
I don’t understand how the left has gotten so out of control. I consider myself a reasonably left-leaning person, but I’m also genuinely open-minded and with my background see things differently.
During the 2016 election, I found myself defending Trump, not because I support him but because of the insane attacks by the media and the left. It was as if Trump was a xenophobic woman-hating, Nazi, and HRC was perfect in every way.
ALL my left-leaning friends are now former friends; I got branded a Nazi and a traitor. They were utterly disgusted by my shift to the right and somehow suddenly a monster that supported big corporations, exploitation of children, wanted to kill all the Indians; ironically I’m part Ojibwa. They even started harassing me. It was pure insanity, and people wonder why I left the left.
A couple of months after the election I was downtown, and someone started calling me a skinhead and how they were going to kill all my white supremacist friends; FYI – I don’t have any, and me.
I tried pointing out that my head is shaved because I was going bald, and have been for about 20 years. I even showed him the lack of a hairline. That didn’t seem to matter.
These kinds of actions really disappointed me, not because I’m attacked, one gets used to it in politics. It’s how the left has become this double standard. They stand up for free speech, as long as it’s not offensive in any way.
Case in point, it’s free speech when celebrities threaten to kill the President of the United States because it’s Trump. The left would shut down the entire country for months if the same thing were done to former President Obama. It’s wrong either way and should not be glorified or condoned.
Okay, rant over!
The other part of my day was finding out why my order was delivered but never showed up. It took about 45 minutes with the shipper to convince them that I wasn’t scamming them. I had to point out that my security camera does not show anyone near my house at the time it’s claimed the package was delivered. It was also brought up that I order at least once a month and this was my 16th order this year. Out of those previous 15 orders, there hasn’t been one complaint. Considering the value of this order deciding to scam the company would not make sense.
Then they tried to pass me off to Canada Post (CP). This was a ten-minute argument about CP’s procedure is for the customer to contact the shipper and then shipper then contacts CP.
I’m not sure which conversation was the worst Racist guy or the lost package conversation.
Yep, I was invaded again today. While feeding a squirrel, it got scared and ran into my house. I suspect he’s a repeat offender. He didn’t run to the left, instead ran to the right and tried to escape where my plants are. Within seconds of looking around, he ran out the door.
I really do love these squirrels. In an odd way, they are becoming family and friends. I definitely see the squirrels more.
I find myself struggling to fit in at the moment. I fully recognise I’m not the smartest person in the world; however, it seems like most of the world is getting dumber by the year.
There has to be something else wrong with my server. I can’t quite remember the time I replaced the drive; It was Monday morning I believe. Anyhow, my point is it’s only at 27% of checking it’s parity. At this pace, it will take a full week. Seven days, not a five day business week. I’m contacting the manufacturer tomorrow. This is ridiculous.
I gong to bed.

We all seem to be a bit prickly when it comes to politics these days. I am sorry that you were judged in public for something you do not embrace.
Thanks. I’m not even political in the sense that I support a party or person. I have beliefs, the most prominent being that everyone is equal and should be treated with respect. That is not the way the world works anymore, not that it ever did but I was naive back in the day.

I am not smart when it comes to politics, but, I also keep my opinions to myself and won’t engage with people about them, yet I am polite and just say I don’t discuss politics, I find that a better way to go, for me.
But that guy in the coffee shop, and his friends were WAY out of line In the first place they /he/ were/was-eavesdropping on your & your friend’s conversation! That was wrong!! But to comment so blatantly and become almost enraged to the point of a fist fight, was stupid and wrong on so many levels. Why can’t people in public leave others alone and mind their own business? I’m glad they got thrown out!! I hope your day is MUCH better tomorrow!! Squirrels will soon move in and become pets, LOL. :*)
We weren’t talking about politics, we were talking about an a theory which is gaining popularity in the academic community.
I grew up in and spent more than 20 years working in politics. I loved it, but always hated having to engage with people who were clueless or got their information from fake news such as CNN.
I’m actually stronger now in my opinions than when I was working.
Wholly would make a great pet. He’s super gentile, although he is extremely protective of his territory which is well, my entire deck.
