Calling All Prayers

I am in West Virginia with one of my bestest friends. We have been friends since age 10. Her name is Barb and when we talk while walking to and from school Barb always said when she had a girl she would name her Toni Renee. Toni was born less than a year after my A-Girl so they have been life long best friends. Toni was born with a bad heart and doctors said then that one day they would be able to fix it. That time has come, Toni had surgery13 days ago and has not been able to be taken off the respitrator though they have tried. She is in terrible shape but she is all her mother has so she can’t die, she just can’t. I know she can pull this on one hand but to see her she does not look like she is going to make it more than 3 more days. Yesterday, they brought her out of an induced coma. She was so drugged but could try and say a few things. She can’t talk but tries. She signs but is too drugged to. Her mom can sign, as can I but she can’t read lips. I can, which came in handy. The important thing is she is not giving up (Barb thought she was). She told us A-Girl and I that she loved us but I think she thinks we are here because she is dying, which she is close to. I got to talk to her a bit and I asked her if she was giving up and got a very clear NO with a head shake to confirm it. She wanted to know who long she had been there and that she just wants to go home. I always think I have seen so much and then something else comes along.

If you pray and I do believe in the power of Prayer please say one for Toni. I will ask for one for her Mom is she does not make it but I want all energy to go to her healing.
