NoJoMo – 2 …

I almost don’t want to say that the pain is starting to subside. I almost don’t want to believe that the cement like blocks of medicated crap they shoved down into what used to be my wisdom teeth is actually working… but I think it might be. I seem to have less and less tenderness ever hour. Perhaps this is the end of the line for my stupid teeth problems. Perhaps all will be ok by next week. I can dream, can’t I? A girl’s allowed a little hope?
Next week is my 25th birthday. Normally, my birthdays are nothing special in my eyes. I know, I know… I harped on how special Grant’s birthday was… what I mean is… I tend to like to celebrate my existence with low key, highly person events. Last year, Faye and her husband, Mom and Michael joined me at Mamacita’s for my birthday. We had lunch. I got some presents. Then they both left and went home, and I went back to working on some stuff for school. This year is a little different from most years though.
This year happens to be the first birthday my husband has ever been home to celebrate. He’s sent cards and gifts from Afghanistan and Iraq before, but this will be the first time he’s actually home to help me celebrate a birthday.
And this year… November 10th marks 6 months out of Texas, 6 months in my new life, 6 months… God, has it really been that long?

Well, I have to go now. It seems I’ve made a colossal mistake that will cost me hours of work. Joy. Perhaps, I’ll be in a less pissy mood later… but I’ve gone from happy and content to pissy and sour in 3 seconds flat. Fun.
