Happy Patty

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all!

I got a lot of great comments on my last entry. I was really surprised at how well the pictures turned out. Since I started this whole thing, I’ve noticed my clothes (and the way they fit) change, but I haven’t seen the changes in my body. I look at myself in the mirror and I see zero progress — which is probably one of the reasons I weight myself so often. I know intellectually that I’m changing, but seeing it is just… something I couldn’t do. Yesterday was the first time I really saw a change. In my picture from a year ago, my face was so much rounder. Now, it’s heart shaped again. And I think my eyes stand out more, which is nice. In any case, I’m very excited.

I was actually fairly productive yesterday. I got a lot of my project (one of many) done. Today, hopefully, I’ll be finishing up. I managed to go to bed at a reasonable hour last night, but I still find myself sleepy this morning. I’m hoping some movement with help. I get to go workout today! Oh, Mr. Elliptical, how I’ve missed you! I also have to go to HEB today — I should have bought groceries days ago, but I kept putting it off. If I don’t buy groceries soon, I’m gonna resort to eating the ravioli in my pantry — not good. So, this morning, I clean my kitchen; after the gym, I shop. That’s the big plan.

Speaking of eating and food, I’ve been having intense craving for peanut butter lately. I’m not sure what it’s about… I just can’t think of any better breakfast (or snack or lunch) than two slices of bread, two tablespoons (a LOT) of Jiff Creamy Peanut Butter, and a little smear of grape jelly. Doesn’t that sound amazing? I just had a PB&J for breakfast, so I am full and don’t want another one. And the peanut butter is supposed to hold you over for a long time. Plus, woohoo for protein! Bonus!

I can’t wait until my order from GNC comes. I spent a little more than I intended, but I got more Alli, some fiber stuff, and some prenatal vitamins without iron. No, I’m not pregnant (husband gone), nor am I planning to be anytime this decade. But prenatal vitamins are awesome. They are great for your hair and nails, they contain everything you need and a little extra, and they are a great idea in case you do get pregnant, because taking prenatal vitamins in the first trimester is supposed to reduce the likelihood of neural issues or some such thing. I have regular prenatals, but when I put the information into MyFoodDiary.com, most days I am way over on Iron, which can cause big issues. Symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhea, severe vomitting, and dehydration. Like I have time for all that shit. So I bought a four month (I think) supply of Prenatal w/o Iron. Woohoo!

Today should be interesting. I have to tell Leila that she can’t come to my graduation party. Faye is really uncomfortable with the idea of Leila being there…with her past history and other things that have happened, she just doesn’t want to risk it. And since Faye is hosting the party at her house, I am not going to make her uncomfortable in her own home. Besides, if I invited Leila, there is a significant chance that she wouldn’t even show up. It’s happened before. I just hate the idea of telling someone I’ve known and loved for seven years that she can’t come to a party celebrating one of the biggest acheivements of my life. Oh well… there are consequences for your actions… Leila is just going to have to accept that. *Sigh* It’s just not going to be fun. Maybe I’ll put it off for a while… like until she’s half-asleep or something.

Well, I have to go tidy the kitchen and change the litter before I go to the gym. Everyone have a great St. Patty’s Day!!!!!
