A few more songs from the all-night radio…

It’s been a long day, but I don’t feel like I’ve gotten a lot accomplished. I addressed some Christmas cards (if you want one, leave me a note with your address). I did some stray chores. I printed some notes for CIS. But really, I haven’t done much of anything.

I don’t know why, but I’ve been so out of it today. I just feel … off. I’ve felt superimposed on the world for a few days now. Maybe I need a nice long drive through the country. Or a nice big bubble bath. Or maybe I just need it to be the 17th already.

I’m just getting tired of waiting. It always seems like the last month is the hardest. Grant has been gone for almost 11 months… and he won’t be home for another 16 days. Even though the house is a mess, and I have finals coming up, and I could kinda use a shower, I wish he’d just walk through the door. I wish I could snuggle up next to him tonight… instead of stacking the pillows up on his side of the bed so I won’t feel so lonely.

And now he’s on the phone… I have to go.

SONG OF THE DAY
Eighteen Wheels and a Dozen Roses
Charlie’s got a gold watch, don’t seem like a whole lot,
After thirty years of drivin’, up and down the interstate.
But Charlie’s had a good life, and Charlie’s got a good wife.
And after tonight she’ll no longer, be countin’ the days.

Eighteen wheels and a dozen roses;
Ten more miles on his four day run.
A few more songs from the all-night radio,
Then he’ll spend the rest of his life,
With the one that he loves.

They’ll buy a Winnebago, set out to find America.
They’ll do a lot of catchin’ up, a little at a time.
With pieces of the old dream, they’re gonna light the old flame.
Doin’ what they please, leavin’ every reason behind.

Eighteen wheels and a dozen roses,
Ten more miles on his four day run.
A few more songs from the all night radio,
Then he’ll spend the rest of his life,
With the one that he loves.

Eighteen wheels and a dozen roses,
Ten more miles on his four day run.
A few more songs from the all night radio,
Then he’ll spend the rest of his life,
With the one that he loves.

16 days!!! That’s not very long at all…especially since you’ve waiting 11 months. Man, how do you do that?!?! Good luck with finals. I don’t miss those.

It will go slowly but it will be over soon and you’ll have him all to himself. I forget or might have missed… how long is he home for?
