In Case You Wanted Proof

I am one of the nerdiest, most uncool people ever to grace the earth.

Over the past few weeks, my television has very seldom strayed from channel 47. And channel 47 is the History Channel. (I have it on right now. I am watching a show about UFOs in the Bible.)

I can’t seem to turn away. A show about reading Hitler’s lips in his silent home movies? Fascinating. Yet ANOTHER show about the holy grail or the Knights Templar? Sweet! Count me in. Two straight hours of speculation about the life of a sperm whale across history (as it relates to the changing landscape of the seafloor)? I am riveted.

They start their nightly programming at 8pm, and it runs through midnight and then they repeat the whole 4 hour block. I will watch from 8 til 12 and then I will keep on watching the same shows over again.

Seriously people. I might need an intervention. I CAN’T STOP WATCHING THE HISTORY CHANNEL.

With the exception of the whales, I have seen every one of those shows you are talking about. And to think, I was beginning to believe I was the only one in the world that watching the History Channel religiously.

I have yet to watch a single show on the history channel. I’m that way with TLC and the Discovery channel though. :X

Haha, I watch the History and Discovery channels all the time. Anything about Egypt in particular tends to fascinate me… and trust me, there’s a lot of stuff to say about Egypt. SPEAKING of nerdy amazingness! Have you read the Red Tent, by Anita Diamant? I just finished it last night, and… wow. It’s amazing. Powerful. Took me awhile to get into, but I think powerful describes it best.

that is cracking me up. I don’t get any interesting channels. I should pick up a book or something! gah! : )

Must be something in the airwaves. Bri and I have been watching the History Channel a lot lately too. I think it’s because every damned thing else is in re-runs. Did you see the History of Christ? The missing years and the missing books? Tres interesting…
