MaJoMo

So, as many of you noticed yesterday, I have failed at NoJoMo. I didn’t have internet access last night, due to Rebecca having more company over (despite her saying “I have people over maybe once a year” when I first rented the place). Since Rebecca’s an unplugging freak, apparently she unplugged the internet cable that’s in the guest room, so when I went to get online late and write my NoJoMo entry, there was no wireless access.

Still, I did not write a “paper entry” for my diary, thus, I have failed to complete NoJoMo. However, don’t fret as I have decided to start a new venture which I have deemed “Matt’s Journaling Month” or MaJoMo for short. The rules of Matt’s Journaling Month are that you have to write an entry for every day during the month of November, only you may skip a day of your choice, because, really, everyone needs a break occasionally. I plan to make MaJoMo an annual event, and I hope that many of you will join me next year (and you’re still free to join this year too!)

Meanwhile, I had a bit of a lousy day yesterday, as I had to pay out $75 to a towing company to keep them from towing my car. There’s a football game today and apparently you’re required to have your car removed from the parking lot that I park in by 5:15 on the Friday before the game. I had no idea, as the general rule for all lots is that you have to have your car removed by 6:00 AM Saturday morning, but, of course, lucky me happens to park in the special lot with special rules. So, basically, at 5:30 yesterday they called me to inform me that they were about to tow my car, and I should hurry down there if I didn’t want it to be towed. Which, really, couldn’t they have called me before they called the bloody towing company? I mean, I didn’t get my car towed, but I still had to pay the $75 towing fee, so it’s not like I gained a lot. And yes, I am not happy about the whole situation.

Anyway, that is all for today. Tune in tomorrow for entry #3 of MaJoMo!

That’s lame. I don’t miss college parking AT ALL.

Why do you have to pay $75 towing fee if they don’t tow your car? That doesn’t make much sense to me. I had my car towed once and it cost me $150.

Oooh, sucky. And I’m sure I’ll miss a day this month, so I’ll probably be an initiate of the MaJoMo society by December. ^_^

It’s nice to know that I can jump on the MaJoMo bangwagon if I miss a day 😛 RYN: Well, they aren’t the wine drinking friends… 😛 They’re more about the beer drinking and pizza eating. 🙂

MaJoMo is more my style…I was worried I’d fail at NoJoMo. Thanks for making me feel better.

What the hell: re: “chatting with your girlfriend”? I am at my dad’s lately with limited internet time…

Any ONE day, or one day a week, or just any day you feel like missing? Be more clear Matt. ~I’ll be

I saw something on 20/20 a couple of years ago about how most states don’t have laws about towing cars and how towing companies blackmail people into paying big bucks in return for not towing their car, or they actually tow the car for no real reason and then force people to fork over money to get the car back. It’s all a big scam. Bah.

RYN: hahaha I can imagine it must be strange, as it is for me when I read diaries that mention Mary all the time. Ironically, my favorite boy name is Matthew and I always wanted to name by first son Matthew. And now I read Matt diaries and date a Matt. Fate, I suppose.

You’re making me nervous…don’t skip a second day ALREADY! I hope you update us soon 🙂

November 6, 2007

Ha! I paid for Internet access while I was in Boston primarily so I could update every day while I was gone. (It was virtually impossible to find an establishment with free wifi there, which completely astounds me.) So what I’m trying to say is I win! You are no longer allowed to hassle me about the brevity of my entries. Because I updated and YOU didn’t!

p.s. And I’ll be catching up on what you have written tomorrow . . . or sometime.
