More Roommate Debate

So, I’m heading to Athens tomorrow to assess potential roommates and living arrangements. The original dream roommate I found is being iffy about things (apparently, she doesn’t technically own the house she’s advertising to rent just yet and isn’t able to make a commitment), so I’ve altered my options a little. I’m leaning very heavily towards the house advertised here.

The owner is a woman with a job working at the University who is also working on her doctorate and seems surprisingly literate and easy to get along with. A Yahoo search of her name reveals that she attended UGA’s honors program and has nice academic credentials overall (I know, I’m a stalker). She also mentions enjoying cooking, so I’m doubting that I’m going to find a better scenario. My other options are all just students and I figure someone a little older and mature will suit me better. So, basically, I’m going tomorrow with all intentions of signing this lease as long as the house isn’t completely falling down or she doesn’t have some weird roommate demands that I don’t expect.

Any thoughts?

I think the real reason you want a female roommate is because you want someone who will cook and clean! Not many boys are like Kyle!

That house is pretty. I want it. Why is it surprising for a woman who works at a university to be literate? Go for it! If she’s going to cook for you, then dude. You’re set.

Plus, if you sign that lease then we’ll all know where you live. That way the tables are turned and we become the stalkers of you. Yes.

damn that’s cheap. i say go for it. sounds good, and looks awesome. i say yeah. absolutely!

ooh, yes, let’s all stalk you.

why is she SURPRISINGLY literate? lol. Yeah, Im just giving you a rough time, but I like doing that for some reason. She sounds nice. Good luck!

Do I detect a Mrs Robinson scenario?

it’s amazing the information google can reveal. The whole renting thing seems so much more complicated than what it is, but hell..so not ready to be a landlord@!

Natalie how? In reverse how?

RYN: Duh, why didn’t I think of that? I’ll put the one’s I don’t want people I know to find under ‘favorites’. Thanks 🙂

That would be the best college residence ever. What was the verdict?

ryn: Sorry Matt, I haven’t read any other Gatsby. I should put up a little bio on my site. I’m disabled by poor health and I don’t leave the house. My retired hubby does all the cooking and dishes. I am stuck in a chair with this body 24/7, and I don’t sleep well. The only thing I can do is read so don’t be too impressed.:)

Well, I suppose that’s what happens if you go demanding answers you already know you’re not going to like. What else could she have said anyway?
