Another Bored Entry

I’m continuing to count the days (5 of them) until Heather’s return, but in the meantime her absence has given me an opportunity to reflect a bit on some things. Such as just how insane it is that I actually flew to California to meet a girl from the internet. Which isn’t to imply that I regret it, I definitely don’t, but sometimes it just suddenly sinks in how nuts the idea is. Seriously, I hadn’t been on a plane since the age of 10 (and I was accompanied by my entire family then) and I’m not exactly known to be the adventurous sort – it’s just hard for me to comprehend that I flew to California and lived with strangers for a week and it was that easy. It makes me oddly proud of myself.

In other news, I coughed up $45 to the university today as part of a “graduation fee” for the regalia one wears at graduation this, of course, despite the fact that I’m not participating in graduation. But, naturally, any excuse the college can find to charge you money is good enough for them.

Also, Kyle bought a new record player this weekend. Yes, that’s right, I said a new record player. No, I didn’t have the slightest idea they still made those either. But, indeed, they do, and Kyle purchased one, thus, we’ve been spending lots of time sitting around playing old records the last few days. Granted, we could likely download any of the songs we’re listening to at the same quality online within seconds, but it wouldn’t be nearly the same. Because records are cool.

Anyway, this was just another bored entry. My apologies, as usual.

Why aren’t you participating in graduation? You’re such a party pooper. Although it is a bit snarky of the school to charge you the money anyway…not like it’s your money anyway, though, since your parents pay for everything. ^_^ (bum)

I love the fact that you did something awesome like that for love. I flew to a different country to see a girl I loved and it was the most amazing [and awful] weekend!

You are quite insane Mat for flying to California. Gosh, Justin can’t even drive an hour…

I don’t think it was insane…Matters of the heart make perfect sense.

aww. you are so in love with her.

I never been on a plane… You and Kyle are like classic potheads, but their excuse is they’re too dopey to realise they don’t do anything.

I flew from Tennessee to England to meet a guy from the internet….and it was my very first time on a plane. I stayed with him for a week and then in January I went back for 2 weeks. I talked to him for about 3 years though and we have a long distance relationship. Great times 🙂

I don’t know. What do you know about working?

Gosh, I feel like the heroine in one of those silly sappy romance novels, what with all these mush and love notes. I’m suffering from jet lag. It’s 8 o’clock and I’ve been up for hours. Gah.
