Doing My Small Part

I’ve been reporting spam diaries to the DM.  Over the last week, each time I come onto OD I scan the most recent entries for text that is obvious randomly generated to provide cover for links to viagra-sunglasses-investment websites or is providing Google hits to raise their visibility in searchs.

I was even tempted to invite any readers to do the same thing, spot checking robo-looking diaries, and maybe we’d be able to take back what is obviously a failed process to prevent phony-accounts from being created–remember when there was a DM that tried to prevent these types of diaries and entries?  For the last couple of weeks the list of recent entries appeared to be as garbage filled as Citi Field in New York.  Have you seen a recent Met’s game?  There is more trash blowing around the field then there are fans in the stadium.  They seem to have a broken garbage collection process and I think that is what has been happening with OD.  It seems that junk accounts are, or were, once more welcome.

I was opening entries, checking those and a couple previous entries and then clicking on the "Report Rules Violation" link on the bottom of the page.  I was reporting two or three a day, and now I’m not seeing as much spam.

Can I claim partial credit for spam elimination, or did someone fix the human recognition portion of the "start a new diary" setup?

I got my hands on some Springsteen tickets (in DC in Sept) before they go on sale to the general public.  First, I guess that means I’m not general and second, I hope to resell these for a nice, but not obscene, profit.

The Nationals have the second best record in the entire MLB.  The Capitals won in overtime to move to the next round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.  The Redskins are expected to draft RGIII tonight.  I think the Obama administration has been very, very good to Washington.  Oh, and you can go to some great parties if you work for the GSA and they even provide hookers for the super Secret Service parties.  Woo Hoo!

Last night I used the last of my gallon of yellow liquid soap to refill the bottle by the kitchen sink.  I’ll start using the white(ish) liquid soap next, but I do need to get another batch made and waiting in the wings.  I need to make some nice, plain soap too.  I wonder what the weekend’s weather is supposed to be like?
