Lady in White

There once was a lady in white,
Her sole purpose in life: to give fright
To the children she saw, both the small and the tall
Until she was sure she had frightened them all.

A lady so beautiful and fair, she was not,
And so took what she could from the lot
That her life had thus given her, sad in a way,
Therefore showing to all her face of decay.

All alone in that mansion she chose
To stay as a prisoner, closed
With no mirrors or vanities there to show
Her that face of decay, her true woe.

Beware the lady in white
For she may come to you in the night.
In the darkness she sits and she waits
For the victims her fright will next slay.

It made me giggle. I hope it was supposed to. It sounds like a poem Neil Gaiman or Tim Burton tells his kids. 🙂 I love it. <:3~
