Last Tuesday was one hellofaday…

I’m exhausted. Tuesday was the toughest day last week, though it got better as the week went on. As for Tuesday, I woke up not being able to move. The weekend before I stayed with my cousin in Baltimore and slept on his couch. It was sore for a couple days after, but I must have did something to it Monday night and woke up not able to even get out of bed. Also, we had been having trouble with our boiler and we had no heat. It was 59 degrees in my house and I couldn’t move.

When I finally threw myself out of bed, I was sore but able to sort of walk around. I went downstairs to deal with the boiler and get some heat back. There was an issue with the sight glass and I ended up overfilling the boiler… water started pouring out of all my radiators. So my wife and I were mopping that up. All while my back was killing me. The guy we hired couldn’t fix the issue so I started looking for someone else to fix it (few days later it was fixed, but it wasn’t cheap at all…).

Then since things happen in the threes… right at the end of the day while I was relaxing watching Modern Family, my wife came down to tell me I really really REALLY fucked up with scheduling our vacation. Let me explain…

A few months ago I scheduled a Disney cruise. I’ve been so busy that I just booked it. I mean, it was a cruise out of New York going to the Caribbean. I live in North Jersey so thought this couldn’t be easier. I was so crazy busy with work that I didn’t really read much into it thinking I’d just handle things right before we left. We already had the essential passports and whatnot. Well, turns out I accidentally booked a one-way cruise… 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭… and I needed to book a flight back from San Juan! My wife discovered this while looking through the itinerary that we get off at San Juan and we never get back on the boat. I guess the whole one-way thing was posted somewhere, but really, I didn’t see anything about this being one-way when I booked it. Then again, I never booked a cruise before… and I’m not known for reading directions… so there was probably a lot of assumption on my part… We ended up canceling the cruise because flights back from San Juan were just too damn expensive. We’re supposedly going to get 75% back from Disney to use for another cruise.

Also I’m never allowed to book a vacation again.

Anyway, my back still sort of hurts. My boiler and radiator are finally functional. And the cruise is canceled. Tuesday was one hell of a day.

whew, good thing she caught it!  What a day!

November 19, 2017

Srsly! I can’t even imagine if she didn’t catch this and being stranded in San Juan with a 3-year-old with no way of getting home (or no way that wasn’t super expensive).

November 19, 2017

That was one sucky day!

November 20, 2017

Oh yikes! But hey, at least she looked into it now, before you got stranded!

November 20, 2017

For sure!

November 20, 2017

Oh dear, too much “bad stuff” I’m sorry all that happened! I hate when it’s cold in my apartment. We have hot water heating here, too, and a boiler somewhere, lol. But, when it starts getting chilly/cold/ they are legally allowed to wait unti it’s 34 or something degrees before they turn the boilers on for heat, then invariably, we have a spell of nice days, and they shut them off again, etc, etc, lol. Okay, I’m adding you, hope it’s okay. :*)

Yes, was not a great day. Though when we first moved in we didn’t have a hot water heater. The water was heated by the coils in an aging oil boiler. I rarely got a hot show then. So can’t really complain anymore that THAT is fixed! 😀

Friendship accepted!

Also I’m never allowed to book a vacation again.

Yeah, this really went without saying, but wife did make it pretty clear that I am not permitted to book vacations after almost getting us stranded 😂😂

November 30, 2017

Well, at least you caught it before you were stranded in San Juan… that wouldn’t be cool. Sorry you had such a shitty day!

December 1, 2017

Yeah, that would have seriously sucked! 😂

Just a test note…

It’s a pitts when it’s cold out and boiler issues arise. I live in an apt. with hot water heating, and mostly it’s good! ~Thanks for the friend request, I added you and for all the help!!

@Butterfly4Him sure thing! And yes, we’re had all sorts of boiler problems since we moved in 5 years ago. At least (knock on wood) it seems to be completely fixed now.
