Grrrrrrr…

So let me take you on the little work journey I had last week.

  • It all started when one of my team members got sick and wound up out of work the whole week.
  • On Wednesday at 5pm I was still in a meeting and as my boss was walking out she peeked her head in the office and asked that I call her at home whenever I was done.
  • I did, and found out that something was seriously wrong with our new program we were going to roll out for 2012.
  • This was no one’s fault really, no one was upset and the plant mgr was actually happy to find this out.  However, this mistake should not have happened in the first place.  We worked hard on the program, met with our finance group to get some consulting to figure out numbers.  We double checked with them…there was a mistake.
  • The program had to be redone—as in—I had to run a new simulation and scrub the file to make sure it was correct.  It is now 8pm on Wednesday night…
  • I get home almost around 9pm.  I was exhausted and couldn’t start working, I had to go to bed.  I had 3 interviews that lasted 1 1/2 hours each that day.  I am such an introvert so all that extroverting made me super sleepy.
  • I woke up at 2am early Thursday morning to start the simulation.  I finished at 8am.  I called work and email the file and told my boss what had to be checked over etc.
  • I then got ready and went to work and continued to work on the file with my boss until it was due…12 noon.
  • I was very tired when I got home and I was PASSED OUT by 6pm…Unfortunately I woke up at 11pm and could not go back to sleep.  I stayed in bed and tried, but at 3am I had to get up anyway to be at work for 5am.
  • You bet your butt I left right at 1 in the afternoon…
  • I got home and went to sleep around 5pm on Friday night (woohoo—I’m such a party animal)
  • Saturday I had absolutely no energy.
  • I felt like I had mono
  • I made breakfast and went back to bed
  • Then I did the dishes and then went back to bed
  • I got up and did some light cleaning…then I went back to bed
  • I basically slept ALL day long…into all night long
  • Sunday I woke up at 7am
  • Went to church
  • Went to my mum’s
  • Did laundry, work and went to CVS
  • Saw my friend as I was driving away and we decided to go out to dinner
  • I was home by 8pm and went to sleep

That was my hell of a weekend…so horrible…

Today:

  •  The team member is still out and will be out all week.
  • My boss was sick today and didn’t come in.
  • I thought I would leave by 5 and try going to a spin class tonight
  • Issues happened and I had to see a night shift person who comes in at 7pm
  • I left around 7:30
  • Missed my class
  • Tired.

Tomorrow:  I have to work 8am-9pm

Wednesday:  I have to work 8am-9:30pm

I know, I should feel very fortunate and grateful that I have a job………..I do.  I just feel really run down.  What’s the purpose of having a weekend if you need to sleep the whole time because you are exhausted from your work week.  I don’t like this.  I feel like i’m going to explode…  šŸ™   It’s past my bedtime, good night.

I think it’s going around I felt like I could have slept all weekend long.

Goodness, what a pain. I don’t know how you survived, but way to go! Ashley
