NoJoMo 7

What do I want to cover today…I don’t know.

Word count for NaNoWriMo…Way behind. But I’m thinking I’m going to start writing with pencil on paper, and then type it up. My words seem to come easier that way, and I can add/edit a bit white typing it up. I wrote 600+ words yesterday while Harley was in his appointment, which was about an hour. I wrote another 638 words this morning, in less than an hour. So yeah…As long as I step away from the computer, and give myself the writing time, I can do this.

I do need to remember to get my reading done for class tomorrow…I didn’t read last weeks! Luckily it can be faked for the most part. *laughs*
I’m almost done with my observing…I need to write up my observations yet and get them turned in. Tomorrow will be my last observation.
I did my first tutoring session yesterday…It made me want to cry. The poor boy. I’m not sure if he’s 4th or 5th grade…I think 4th…He has no real reading skills, and no real math skills.
This is what happens when the teachers are so concerned with covering 100% of the curriculum in the year, rather than being connect with covering 80% of it, and spending the time to make sure your students actually have it! *sigh*

Do I want to get into election stuff? Not really…But I can’t help but think my point was proved last night…The reason why I don’t vote. That said, I suppose an explanation would at least be nice.
I want to start by saying I’m quite happy with the way things worked out. Is it perfect, no, but going back to what we had before wasn’t going to help, it was going to make things worse. At least there is some effort being put forth, things are getting better, little by little…Those who thought things were just going to automatically be fixed and the world was going to be great…Were all delusional. Things take time, it’s a fact of life, you can’t make dramatic change over night, and not when you have others fighting you the whole way…But, I’ve gotten away from my point.

I do not vote because I do not buy into the every vote counts. It is a percentage of votes that count within the electoral collage.
What really proved my point to me was as they called the election, announcing Obama was reelected, Alaska’s polls hadn’t even closed! Seriously? To me, this was like saying, okay Alaska, you can vote, but we aren’t going to count any of your votes. On top of that, there were still 5 or 6 states that hadn’t officially announced which candidate their state chose (but it didn’t matter, as the numbers needed were already in, so their votes don’t really seem to matter either), and that was including ‘oh so important’ Florida (Nothing against any Flordarians out there, it’s just there was so much hype about Florida being NEEDED, and then it hadn’t even been color coded at the time the election was called…Putting them, pretty much up there with Alaska the way I see it…My own thoughts and opinions mind you, on all of this).
Michigan did good though. *smiles* Tis the only time blue is better than red.

Think that is about it for the moment…Need to think about getting ready for the day…Need to take the recycling in before Mum tosses it, just to get it out of her way.
Sonja has a dentist appt. so I have to go get her in a bit, and can take the recycling then…If I get off my arse and take it out to the Blazer.

yes, i think the electoral college is a stupid left over. it was once very important and now is totally obsolete since we have electronic voting and reporting. popular votes for president do NOT elect the president. ANYWAY, thank you so much for the hugs and stuff. i am really being pathetic and in pain. MUAH have a good day. tell sonja i am sorry she is going to the dentist. i still can’t get over how big they are now!

Yay for words! I, too, find that writing on paper to be much more free-flowing, you could say. And it can be done anywhere as long as you have the paper or a notebook, unlike being confined to sitting in front of the computer. I didn’t vote because I knew which way the vote would swing for my state due to the electorial college. For as long as I can remember, LA has voted Republican. Blah.

That’s BS. In Canada, they don’t release any information before all the polls are closed (even if BC’s vote never ends up mattering). Plus, every vote gives the party $2 for campaigning in the next elections (which Emperor Harper may be scrapping because he hates the Green party). Plus we have multiple parties with seats. As a rule, I vote against the Conservatives if I live in a close riding. If my vote isn’t going to matter for the outcome, then I vote Green to give them the $. Everything I hear about the US elections makes me think “wtf??” Ours aren’t perfect either…our multiple parties split the liberal vote, but the US elections seem like a lot of hype for not very much democracy.

I dreamt about Loki a lot last night, but I can’t remember any details. Whatever I dreamt though must have touched my subconscious because I woke up feeling “good” about having him in my life again.
