*looks around* How the bloody hell did it get to be June? *blinks* Seriously?
Anyway…It was the last day for the Critters to have school. They had half a day, and Sonja made me stay the whole time. It hurt to have to leave afterwards, especially with her crying and wanting to come home. *sigh*
At least I get first week of summer…I’m hoping that helps her feel somewhat better…Unfortunately, she still has to be gone till Sunday.
My own schooling…
Teaching Writing: Despite having 12 hours in the classroom, only 4 of those were one on one tutoring time…Which leaves 6 hours I have to make up. [Those are made up with summer writing exercises, of which we had to come up with 5 anyway…So I’m looking at 11 of the bloody things!]
Not feeling too bad about the summer writing exercise things, despite having to do quite a few extra. I’ve got 3 typed up & printed up already. I’ve got idea lists…I think enough to cover the remaining 8 I’ll be needing, though I haven’t actually counted (& I do need to get them typed up and what not).
I’ve got 1 lesson plan done (Narrative) & added some detail, though I’m not sure it’s enough, to the procedure part of it. I’ve got the lesson plan itself typed up for a second one (Poetry), though I’m having a bit of trouble coming up with its rubric. It’s hard to come up with what should be looked at for grading with poetry. I had 5 things on my Narrative rubric, thus far I only have 3 on my Poetry rubric, which may be enough, but…*shrugs*…Just seems like there should be something more.
I need 4 more lesson plans after that: Descriptive, Expository (Informational), Persuasive, and Research.
I have notes for a rubric for the research one, somewhere…I so need to be a bit better (okay, probably a lot better, organized).
I have a mini-lesson due Monday. Blah.
Plus there is the Digital Story we are suppose to do.
Intro to Learning & Assessment:
*rolls eyes* We have these 3 things that she had us print out that we are suppose to fill out for class Tuesday (it is the second meeting we have in person)…& I haven’t a bloody clue how I’m suppose to fill these things out. She gave no explanation, like we should just know what we are doing. & since they look like simple things that kids would fill out, feel really stupid not knowing that to do with them…But I’m sure kids would get instructions somewhere along the lines! Blah.
I hate this class…It’s a lot of read this, and then not getting anything out of it. It’s not interesting reading in the least, which doesn’t help. The questions we have on the discussion board have little to nothing to do with what is in the chapters. It’s just quite frustrating. All of this has me near twitching when I think about the (I think it’s 3) major assignments that we have for this class. There is a note on this week’s ‘stuff to do’ that says to talk with our learning group…Doesn’t give us any kind of idea of what we are suppose to talk about. Although I hated the idea of a Thursday night class (and am enjoying not having to drive to T.C. 4 days a week), I’m almost thinking it would have been for the better. I don’t know if I’m going to get enough out of this class to be able to do the work, let alone pass the class. *sigh*
Language Arts for Teachers:
I’m curious to see what kind of feedback I get on my Cultural Autobiography. I know the teacher grew up in a fairly main stream religious home (church required every Sunday) & me being me…One of my subtitles was something along the lines of “Organized Religion: Not So Much.” *shrugs* Nature is a big part of who I am, and that also includes where my faith base comes from. Can’t help that, tis
who I am.
I’m worried about the one assignment for this class too, the research project one. I’m still questionless. & this is something we have to present to the class & have 5 sources for. Blah. This is due July 24th or 31st.
I got the book for my book project, though I haven’t started reading it yet…Going to have to do something about that soon. It’s due on July 10th or 17th.
There is also an assignment that requires 2 lesson plans, which is due June 26th…& it’s a bit cloudy on what it’s wanting. I’ll have to look up the rubric and see if that makes it any clearer (it is currently buried in the massive amount of papers the teacher hands out).
The last assignment in the final…Need to check on that to see what is needed.
We are supposed to have 2 discussion boards, which we are supposed to respond to 3 times per board. As of this morning, I’m the only one that’s written anything on the board.
I want to do more of “Finish This Book,” but I have to ‘walk around the neighborhood’ to do the next part…& it’s raining, & cold, & so not going to happen tonight. Hopefully it’ll stop raining for tomorrow, at least for a little while. Mum said we’d go to the flea market at the Bass Festival. [Wish I could have Critters with, but I know that’s not going to happen. *sigh*]
I am feeling out of sorts.
I’m not sure if it’s the school in the summer thing…
The knowledge that it’s ‘summer vacation’ for the Critters, which means one week here & happy, one week gone & miserable (for them and me)…
Or if it’s just a general malaise.
I woke up with a headache…It was getting better, until I got a shoulder in the throat (Not pleasant, but a complete accident, as Harley was happy to see me and came running up and jumped into my arms, and we were angled badly).
I want to write more for my writing diary, Autore delle parole, but just haven’t had the chance to write anything for it.
Harley’s tadpoles died. I didn’t tell him. It was only two last night, but the third one died today. Figured he didn’t need anything else to upset him over the weekend.
Think that’s it for the moment…
wah a lot … a lot!
Warning Comment
*hugs you lots* sometimes you just have to be true to yourself (well always actually) and give information to others about your religious views. MUAH good luck my dear. Poor you and poor bebes. MUAH
