Essay Evaluation Squee-ness & other things…

Okays…Thus far on the college front.
My first math test was Friday, and it was a lot better than I was anticipating…I got 83% on it…& all totaled…I’m getting a 3,0/B/85% in math.

French…I’m considering skipping tomorrow. I know I shouldn’t, but…Sonja stayed home sick today & Harley came home sick today. I have a headache. I don’t know…

English…Got my first paper back…I got a B! I’m quite pleased…On top of that I’m totally in love with the first paragraph of my essay evaluation.

A reminder on the paper: http://www.opendiary.com/entryview.asp?authorcode=D588183&entry=11453&mode=date
& he said I did a nice job on the title. *grins*

&&&…This first paragraph of my evaluation:

Thoughts: Right off the bat I want to say this – you are a gorgeous writer, Jenn. The hypothesis section is not simply graceful and seamless, but also contains artistry of language. You have to be a creative write yourself, no? Just have to. The sentence at the top of the section, the use of the word “wreckage” for Kathy’s boiled body, the explanations at the bottom of the second page for John’s inability to comprehend or understand what he had unconsciously done – just sheer originality and invention in the phrasings. The best, though, unquestionably is the sentence ending the middle paragraph on the second page: “Once things were disposed of properly, Sorcerer would return to the boat house, and John would find himself waist deep in water, unsure of how he got there, or what had transpired.” That’s sheer skill, to be able to distinguish so subtly between the man who committed the unimaginable and the man who couldn’t imagine what had happened in that time missing from his memory. Drop-dead gorgeous!

So yeah…I am all squee-y currently. *laughs*

& on the Critter front…They both seem to be feeling just fine now…Is it wrong to hope Harley isn’t feeling up to school tomorrow, so I have an excuse to stay home?

As I said on FB, I am proud of you, Sissy. I knew you could do it! && like I said in my note when I read your essay, you definitely deserved a good grade. šŸ˜€ Wouldn’t it be great if schools were like work & had paid sick days? *laughs* I know how you feel. I have called in “sick” to work a couple times, so I could do other things.
