Cafe, Fieldtrip, Surgery & annoying invaders…

Let’s see…I’ll start with Wednesday night I suppose…

The school had their yearly exhibition. Sonja had to work in the café. She actually wanted to stay the whole length of the time! *laughs* I ended up taking Mum & Harley home & going back to get Sonja later.
The 7th graders run the café every year, & as part of it, they write short stories that the parents & students can read while they are drinking their coffee & hot cocoa. Sonja had told me before not to read her book, she gave me the excuse that it wasn’t written well…On the contrary, it was written quite well, and very nearly made me cry.
The title was “Ring of Silver, Heart of Gold”, Sonja says Tony (her cousin) named it…She was writing about the Slytherin ring that she always wears on a green ribbon around her neck…More so what it means to her, and why. The ring use to belong to Raya, she left it here when she moved back to Louisiana. The memoir is about how sad Sonja was about her Aunt Raya leaving, and how much it hurt and upset her…And how she still wonders if she’s going to get to see her again.

Thursday…Harley’s fieldtrip to Jordan River Fish Hatchery. I think it too was a successful trip. They are just opening up a nature trail, it was the first ‘tour’ our guide had given since they had put the signs in place about the plant life that is along the trail. The black flies were annoying, but they gave everyone these little green net hoods to keep the bugs away.
After the nature trail hike (it’s about a half mile long), we went into the buildings and got to see various growths of fishies. Little fishies & huge fishies. Harley had fun. *smiles*
We had lunch at the hatchery and then since we had a lot of time left, we went up to Dead Man’s Hill…Which we realized when we got up there that today is the 101 year anniversary of the guy’s death that caused it to be named Dead Man’s Hill.

Today…*huge sigh of relief*
Harley went in to get his bump removed today. He did such a good job. We had numbing cream to put on the area before hand, which seemed to work quite well, as he didn’t really feel the needle when they put in the numbing stuff for the actual surgery. So after a couple shots they cut a small slit into his leg. *shudders* Not a fun thing to be witness to, but I wasn’t going to leave his side for anything.
Turns out it was a cyst caused by an overactive sweat gland. It had caused a secretion to build up and it formed into the little ball thing. It was like a smooshy looking fatty substance. (Though in comparison to the actual fat cell we got to see, fat and it looked nothing alike. The fat cell actually looked like a small pink bubble.) The doctor says he’s seen a lot of these, they are benign, so nothing to worry about. He removed that particular gland as well, as if it was left behind it was likely that it would do it again. This way the gland is gone & there shouldn’t be any reoccurrence of the bump. *smiles*
& Harley did so well…Laid still really good. Looked a couple times at the hole that was created in his leg. He wanted to see what the ‘bump’ looked like. He looked a couple times while the doctor was putting the stitches in. [We go back on the 31st to get his stitches removed.]

After his appointment we went and got some ice cream [The nurse gave him a couple little candy bars since he was so well behaved.] and then went for a ride through the Jordan & then went into town to get large band-aids & he picked out a scuba mask & snorkel. So he’s all happy and content.

Invaders are still here…They were suppose to be here overnight, as per usually, they have said they are extending their stay. *rolls eyes* I’m so bloody annoyed with them.
They come in as a guest in my house…Leave their McDonald’s bags & other assorted garbage laying around. Use my dishes without even the thought of cleaning them afterwards…Moved a friggen gaming system & tv into my living room! Right next to where I sleep, knowing bloody well that is where I sleep.
I came home from Harley’s fieldtrip yesterday to find Spoon on the couch & Poochie still locked in the small cage for when no one is home. *growls* Seriously, a little fucking common sense would be nice.
Their presence it just bloody well annoying.
Not to mention the added unnecessairy noise that comes from their games & the computer they are using…Seriously? We are in the living room with the tv on, there is stuff on the tv, ever think those in the living room might want to be able to hear it?!

Sonja will be home from school in a couple hours & we will have another being in the house. At least this one was wanted & I know she’s quite and will hide out and not be in the way.
I don’t know what I’m bloody well going to feed anyone…*sigh* Blah.

I glad that whole bump removal went well. wow they are unaprative. If i was visiting someone’s home like that I would at least clan the dish i used and cleaned up after myself. They are lucky that you even have them stay there.

Yay for Harley being so well behaved for his surgery! So… tell us again why these unwanted guests are in your home, and why you can’t just tell them to get the f* out?
