Gods…I’ve got to quite these mile long entries.

Finally…I only have four more pictures (or so) to take for my self-directed photography assignment. I dressed Sonja up all loverly, with make-up too. Which she was a bit wary over to begin with…But once she realized it wasn’t going to hurt her, she was fine with it. [And honestly, considering the first eye-liner I had, I could understand her trepidation. It wasn’t the one I wanted, but I couldn’t find it. So…I just ended up using the little lipstick that I had for eyeliner/eyeshadow as well. Worked wonderfully. *nods* Gods…She could so be a model. And this isn’t just a Mum being overly proud of how beautiful her little girl is…It’s the bloody truth! Once I get film developed & pictures printed, I will have to share.

& despite her being a bit wishy-washy about it at the beginning (one of the reasons it took longer to get to taking them than I expected), I think she really got into it after we got going. SHE was even coming up with ideas/suggestions for poses & what not!
Yet…She says she doesn’t want to be a model…One of her reasonings…She doesn’t want to travel? O.o *pokes at her* What is wrong with you child? *laughs*

All of that was Saturday’s excursion.

Easter: *pokes at it* In the midst of it right now. Or past the midst, or something. Critters have already been picked up for their day of torture. & apparently they won’t be going up to see the other side of their family. [Can’t see this making that side of the family overly happy. They are REALLY big on family getting together on the holidays.] Harley was clinging to me, not wanting to let go. Sonja was taking as long as she could to get her socks on, so she wouldn’t have to go. (I think that’s the reason she picked out toe-socks today…Since they take a bit of work to get on.)
I don’t know how they could make it any more obvious that they didn’t want to go…*shakes head* I just wish they could stay here and be happy. *huggles them*

Basket of Goodies:
I actually had something that I wasn’t expecting in my basket. *laughs* A card with six pairs of earrings on it. A pair of apples, a pair of cherries (actually each earring is two cherries with a stem), A pair of rainbows (*pokes at them* They are the odd ones out.), a dangling pair of strawberries, a dangling pair of icecream cones, and a dangling pair of icecream sundaes.
Mum got them for me for the apples…Then I informed her I could match the rest of them (aside from the rainbows) to Death Note as well…Apples=Ryuk…Rest of the Goodies=L…Rainbows…*pokes at them some more*

Also got a single earring. It matches a necklace I already have…Tis Ryuk’s earring.

Rest of the list reads as:
Death Note 13: How to Read. It’s a Death Note encyclopedia of sorts.
Death Note: Another Note- The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases. [Yay Beyond Birthday!]
Death Note playing cards
Oh yeah…A Ryuk Plushie! *giggles*
Jump rope
Butterfly Kite
The Road To El Dorado DVD
& assorted candy: jellybeans, Hershey’s kisses, chocolate bunny, Reese’s egg.

Homework front:
Read the short story that I have to analyze for Creative Writing…Just have to get to the analyzing part.

Read for Eastern Religions quiz Tuesday…Not sure any of it retained, then again, I never am. Still haven’t touched the 3rd paper, which is due Thursday.

Photography…Yeah, pretty much updated that already. Is feeling fairly good about it. I just hope the shots turned out good.

3-D design: *falls over* Hate this assignment. I’m sure it’s just me making it harder than it has to be, as I do tend to do that. Which, knowing that I tend to do that, you would think that realizing that is what I’m probably doing, I could fix that. *shakes head* Nope, nothing doing.

Here is said assignment in detail…

Assignment #8: Superhero Mask/Headgear Design

Problem: Construct a mask or a piece of headgear that represents the attributes of:
1) A person you consider your hero
2) A superpower you would like to have (suck as flying, x-ray eyes, etc.).
3) A political or moral value you would stand up for.

Some of the options can also be combined (example: combine a father as a hero, who was an anti-war protester during Vietnam, and you can make “Father Peace.”) Each piece must be wearable, at time of presentation.

Objective:
1) To explore new materials.
2) To connect materials and meaning.
3) To introduce an aspect of performance.
4) To work as a creative/active member of a brainstorming group.

Strategy:

1) Brainstorm ideas with classmates (2-3 in a group). Come up with multiple solutions to the problem. Any idea may be viable, no matter how strange it may seem! [Didn’t do this part…Sort of talked to the one girl before she had to leave…But yeah…Didn’t really get to anything helpful for me.]
2) Write a description of your Superhero. This may include a fictional or non-fictional history of the Hero, his/her attitude, personality, or general interests.
3)… … … … Just goes on about the details of needing sketches done. What things to make it out of. Large sketch that will be part of the finished assignment. Get it done. Wear it for pictures when it’s time to hand it in.

So…Yeah…I’m lost. Thus far, all I have is a girl with canine ears. *shrugs* I don’t have a blood clue what I’m doing.

Several hours later…

I’ve written the paper for Creative Writing…Yay! I’m done with that evil thing.

Now…On to Assignment #7. Said assignment could be one of two things…Either another revision…Which as I had such a hard time doing that for the 5th one…It’s not a happy option. OR…A new short story, but he wants a ‘Social Commentary’. O.o I asked him after class that if we opted for a new story if it had to be social commentary. He said it’s what he’d prefer…Then said I could do something about a student proving that fan fiction was a viable form of creative expression, as he knows my interest in fan fiction (as well as the one thing I submitted to the magazine was about such, but as a one act play). I was having trouble grasping the concept. On the way home I had a thought though…

I could start out with a student getting an assignment for creative writing, asking the teacher if she could do something with fan fiction, him scoffing at it, saying it wasn’t really being creative or such. Then after a bit she decides to write it anyway, as she figures the teacher wouldn&rsqu

o;t really have a clue anyway. He gives it a good review while going over it in class, then afterwards another student comes up to her and asks her if it was inspired by the story that it was. She concedes that it was, the teacher starts to object, but the other student steps in with the fact that despite having the elements that were in the cannon, that the story itself was completely original. I figured I could actually put in the snippet of the story she wrote in the story itself too…That way I get to sneak in a bit of fan fiction into the assignment myself. Hehehe. Tis a thought anyway. The only one I have.

Other than that…It’s that time of year again…Registration for Fall ‘09 classes.

Mondays & Wednesdays:
ENG 264 Detective Fiction 1:00-2:30
PSY 250 Abnormal Psychology 4:20-5:50

Tuesdays & Thursdays:
PHL 202 Contemporary Ethical Dilemmas 11:20-12:50
ART 152 Pottery II 3:10-5:10

Online:
Adolescence/Cultural Diversity

I read through the sample syllabus for Adolescence/Cultural Diversity this morning, after signing up for classes…And was feeling a bit, but not overly, daunted. There are going to be 7 books to read, two papers to write, and a third project/paper. There is going to be discussion boards online that we have to participate in. Some quizzes, and a few other things.
But…I’m really not feeling too bad over it, especially since I ended up talking to one of the woman in my Creative Writing class who has taken the class, with the same professor…Though she had it as a regular class, not an online one. But as long as I don’t forget, and keep reminding myself, and get things done/turned in on time…Then I should be fine.

Also…She had taken Abnormal Psychology, with the same professor I will be having. She said it is really easy, you just have to do the reading, & the professor is really great. She said it should be an easy 4.0 J So…I’m feeling fairly good about that one as well. [She also said, at least when she took it, there weren’t any exams.]

Contemporary Ethical Dilemmas is the same professor that I have for Eastern Religions, and as it’s a Philosophy class…As long as you can reason (or B.S.) good, you’re more than likely to get a good grade. I’m guessing there will be two or three papers, probably a similar set up to Eastern Religions. So yeah…Feeling pretty good about that one. [I’m just hoping Reese doesn’t decide to take this one with me…I know we’d have clashing view points on probably most of the topics.]

Pottery II…The professor wants me there. *laughs* He told me before I was out of Pottery I that he wanted me to take Pottery II…And he’s been telling Reese (as she’s in Pottery I this semester) that she needs to talk me into taking Pottery II. So…That pretty much means Reese will probably end up in Pottery II with me. Still…Should be an easy 4.0 J

That leaves only Detective Fiction…Which I’m not sure what to expect. *shrugs* I guess I’ll see. Hopefully I can manage it without too much trouble.
Crap…I was going to see to make sure, and hope, that it’s not in the evil room. O.o There is a room, an auditorium type room, that I walk in and it makes me dizzy. *can feel head spinning just thinking about it*

Anyway…Have to talk to an advisor tomorrow, find out what I need to do to started a second associates after finishing the first one. Reese says I have to make sure to keep going to school, so she’s not left there alone with James (as he would be all pouty) and…Gunner! O.o This is Gunner’s senior year, so he’ll be coming to college with us next semester. Tis a scary thought indeed.

Well…Supp ose I should finish this up…Need to get Harley to calm down & get to sleep.

Uh – just out of curiousity – what type of diploma are you trying to get? (Psychology, Creative writing, … ???) Detective Fiction sounds like you might be learning how to create interesting storylines like “who-dunn-it”s… best thing I can think of are “The Cat Who…” books by Lilian Jackson Braun… or if you want another media – try “Millenium” or “X-files” TV series (director/producer/writer Chris Carter). Can’t wait to see the pics of your “model” daughter!
