Already a long day…
Update on Roy: He got out of I.C.U. yesterday, or the day before…Most of the tubes they had in him are out, and he’s responding and seems to still know the things that he should know. So things are looking good. Hopefully there aren’t any long term effects that just have shown up yet.
Took Sonja to the E.R./After hours clinic last night. She’s okay though. (She’s got a urinary tract infection.) Just has to take some medicine for the next week.
She’s not good at swallowing pills though, and they gave her capsules with the powder stuff in them…So I have to open up the capsule and mix the powder in with something…We used apple sauce earlier.
Gods…The ride over to Charlevoix last night wasn’t bad…Roads were clear, it wasn’t snowing at all. We weren’t even at the hospital very long, and boy did things change! When we got out of there, Jumba was covered in snow, and there was no sign of where the roads were suppose to be at. It was a lot slower trip home than it was there, that’s for sure.
I was kind of hoping for a snow day for the Critters today…But since I couldn’t get Sonja’s prescription filled till today, and there was an incident at the school I wanted to talk to them about before sending Harley back…I decided to call it an off day, and didn’t even bother setting the alarm.
[*growls @ Dan* He friggen called here around 8:30-9:00 to ask me why the Critters weren’t at school. He gave me some line about being at the school, and someone asking him, since I hadn’t called in, where they were at. *rolls eyes* That’s a line of bull. It’s probably more like he noticed they weren’t there, then asked them if they knew, and they told him I hadn’t called in, so they didn’t know.]
The Chevy garage called yesterday to say that Appa had quit messing up again, prior to putting him on the machine. They still put him on there, and all it came up with is ‘low voltage’ from where we had to get him a new battery. BUT…They took at look at his fuel filter, and decided it was partially clogged, and that it should be replaced. So I gave them the okay to go ahead at do that…Which was suppose to be done yesterday.
I get a call from them while I’m in Eastern Religions…The guy is having trouble removing the fuel filter! It was stuck on so bad it had to be soaked to get it off. So they wouldn’t be done with it after all.
Got a call from them this morning…Fuel filter has been successfully changed. It was pretty much clogged to the point of insanity from the sounds of it. Which is probably why Appa kept messing up. Mum is not happy with Scott…As that should of be one of the first things he checked when we brought it in with its symptoms. I know I had wondered if it was something to do with the fuel pump at one point…Because it did act like it wasn’t getting enough gas. But fuel filter does actually make a lot of sense. And now that I think about it…Ghost acted kind of like that when his fuel filter was all clogged up. [Only he was a stick shift, and easier to deal with then he tried to die out.] So yeah…Appa is ready and waiting for me to come get him…I just have to wait for Mum to get home from work.
I mentioned Harley and an incident at school…Sonja and Harley were in the office after school, complaining about the stupidity of the bus driver, and how even if you move over to let some else in the seat you get yelled at for being out of your seat. Blah. Anyway…Sonja said Mr. Z (Who is a teacher Harley has trouble with anyway…He’s the kind that likes to pick on people, and thinks it’s all great. Harley is like me, unless it’s someone from the inner circle, I hate to be treated as such.) swatted Harley with a ‘cardboard paper’ (I’m thinking maybe it was a file folder or something like that).
I called and talked to the superintendent/principal this morning. He called back a little while ago. He said he talked to everyone that would have been around. Apparently Mr. Z was trying to get them moving towards the buses, and not thinking, like he would do anyone else, gave him a tap to send him going. That is not something you do with Harley. I also told Mr. Kent that I know there is going to be problems next year if Mr. Z continues to pick at Harley like he does with the other students. Mr. Kent realizes this as well, he knows Harley is not like everyone else, and can’t be treated as such. So he’s suppose to talk to Mr. Z about that as well…And hopefully Mr. Z will get it through his head. [I know Mrs. Gooding has already talked to him, and warned him not to pick on Harley. And he won’t, as long as Mrs. Gooding is around, because he know she’ll go after him. I’m so glad Harley has Mrs. Gooding on his side. I really don’t know what would of happened to him this year if she hadn’t been there for him.]
Speaking of teacher/student abuse. I hit Doug. *laughs* He bloody well deserved it though…And this came after I pushed him along part of the hall, shooing him off to go teach someone something.
He got hit because he called me Harry.
This started because I had my mock-up for 3-D design, which was inspired by the Quidditch Pitch.
Then again…After all of that, I managed to get him to do, I think a bit more than half, of the cutting of my mat board for Photography. *laughs*
Doug is one of those teachers that aren’t like regular teachers. Yeah, he expects you to do the work if you’re in one of his classes, and he expects you to show up to class. But he also realizes that beyond being students, we are beings (refuse to say I’m a people) too.
So…Today was a bit of running…Went to get Sonja’s prescription…Went to get Sonja’s glasses…Came home. Now waiting for Mum so we can go get Appa. What I really want to do (aside from getting Appa home, as I really want him home like he should be), is take a nice long nap. I didn’t get to bed till after 1 AM. I was taking advantage of the quiet to get a jump on the final building of assignment #4 for 3-D design. [Quirrel suggested I make it to a smaller scale. So I’m going to do that, and currently I’m attempting to use cardboard instead of railroad board (which is a lot like poster board), so, yeah…It’s a whole new experience. Though I think I got most of my needed parts cut out last night.
Homework looks as thus:
Due Monday: A Chapter & Study Guide for Photography…Not sure if anything else…Aside from needing to take pictures (to hopefully have done in time to develop the film on Tuesday).
Have to read someone’s story from Creative Writing…Mark on the manuscript where I think it needs work, and write up a paragraph or so of thoughts on it.
Due Tuesday: Assignment #4 for 3-D design (The mini Quidditch Pitch).
I have to have…Um…Not sure how many pages. *looks* 73 pages read, to take a quiz on them for Eastern Religions.
Due Wednesday: *thinks* Um…Negatives for Photography, I&
rsquo;m not sure what, if anything else…And I should get a start on my Assignment #4 for Creative Writing.
Due Thursday: Crap…I think it’s my week for a media review in Eastern Religions. Blah. And besides that, I need to get ‘Zen in the art of Archery’ read, so we can figure out what we are going to do for our groups presentation. We’ve got like 8 people in our group, thus far, no one has actually read the book (though I did get some of it read last night), and only 2 of us actually have a copy of the book!
I haven’t had my coffee today…My head hurts…I’m thinking the two might be related. My back hurts too…But that’s pretty usual.
*sigh* There is some unhappy news in the household.
Zetsu has a cage to himself.
I’m not sure what happened…Though it’s possible it was just age, as they were already over one year old when we got them…But Tobi passed away. He had been breathing a little odd, off and on, of late…But seemed to be doing fine otherwise.
Mum’s looking at being laid-off sometime, probably within a month’s time. But, they are giving them a $100.00 a week for a while (I can’t remember how long she said…They did this once before too), and some other things. She can get unemployment for 15 months, if the lay-off lasts that long. There was something else, but I can’t remember what it was now. So she’s not feeling too bad about it. Things are set fairly well for a while.
Well…Mum should be getting home shortly…So Appa should be home shortly too.
yeah for the appa. ex should be killed.. i’d help get rid of the body. heh. love you dear. MUAH poor kids. hope they are better tomorrow.

I’m glad Roy is out of ICU; that is definitely a good sign. *nods* Poor Sonja! Those things hurt for adults…I could only imagine how much pain a child would be in with such. *kicks Dan* *pokes Scott* Yay for getting Appa back! Hopefully, it stays out of the car hospital for a while. *lol* Sorries about your rat. 🙁 *HUGS* Love yous!

Sorry to hear of Sonja’s infection – glad to hear you got meds for her tho! That’s weird about Harley’s teacher… and for most kids, that “playful” hitting with the cardboard thing wouldn’t be a big deal… but I know what you mean about Harley being special… Gizmo’s the same way… things that you wouldn’t think are a big deal are like the end of the world for him. Yay for getting Appa back!
