Caught up in memories
I just spent the last…I think like two hours…re-reading role-play entries. Initially I started out to find one entry…The one, in the original version of the role-play, where Peter gave Raven the first (asked for) shot of Diazepam. [It was on the thought of homework, really it was.] And after reading the two entries that made it up, I got caught up reading that whole ordeal…From ‘first’ shot up to and threw withdrawal. Took me from October to nearly December. [Way back in 2005!]
My heart nearly ached with remembrance…It’s odd…I miss writing like that. I don’t know why I haven’t gone back to such…Lack of time? I had all summer…Wherever it disappeared. Perhaps it’s just I don’t have Romulus as sorted out in my mind, so I don’t have that same connection…Really need to do something to work on that.
Anyway…As I said, it was for homework.
Due completely on the 10th…We are suppose to write a scene, in which we use concrete writing to express a character’s personality.
Assignment: [Your goal it to have readers surmise with reasonable accuracy the traits you want your character to have. “Traits” here mean personal habits of mind and behaviour, not momentary emotions. So you’re not merely trying to show a character who is, for instance, frightened because of something frightening in the scene. You could, however, create a character who is cowardly “by nature” and present this trait without ever calling him or her cowardly, without using that abstract word or any of its near-synonyms. Got that?]
So that’s it in a nutshell. It’s suppose to be two pages long, then have a explanatory paragraph on a third page, that ‘sets forth what you want us to understand about this character.’ & “You may also add some statements about the significance of this character to you…”
*takes a moment to curse out the hurricane* It stole my sissy!
Now…To try and finish this up, so I can get back to my homework, despite the fact that I’ve already given up on Todd coming over. *sigh* [He called me while I was walking with Mum & Libby…I told him he should come over, he told me to call him when I got home. Called him, woke him up…He said he’d call back when he woke up a bit more…That was three hours ago. My guess…He fell back to sleep again. *sigh* Not that I can really blame him, he’s been overworking himself. He wants to get all his bills caught up and paid off.
Yesterday was suppose to be his day off…He ended up going in to work.
He went into work at one today…Must of got out about five. He called me about 5:30 or so.
He’s going to be working a double shift Sunday (and he’s working at some point tomorrow…Not sure what time he’s suppose to be going in)…& He’s going to be working on his birthday now too! *sigh* *frowns* Though I think he said he’s working from 4 to 9…If that is so…Hopefully I’ll get to spend some time with him. (Already asked Mum if she would watch the Critters for me, in case I get the chance.) Anyway…]
The last week…
Todd came over last Friday…We spent most of the time outside enjoying the fire pit…& burning nearly all the wood I had managed to gather up a couple weeks prior. It was a fun night though…And beer still tastes awful, even if I did manage to drink most of a can…Which was after the one and a half shots of Captain Morgan’s Rum *shudders*, and a fuzzy navel wine cooler.
Saturday…Todd had to get up and leave at 7 in the morning (stupid meeting at B.C.P.)
Mum, the Critters and I packed up to go camping! Finally! *laughs*
We got to the park, not even knowing if we would have a space, as it was Labor Day week-end. Luckily we got one, and it was a fairly good spot.
We stayed until Monday…We packed up that day and came home.
All three days that we were there we went ninja. *giggles*
Saturday night the Critters and I got dressed up and ran around on the beach, played on the swings/slide, chased seagulls.
Sunday we went to the dollar store and got ninja weapons…So we had them when we went off Sunday evening…Though we were dressed ninja all day…Plus we went to my grandmother’s house (the one we hardly see…Punker’s wife). [I actually did homework…Sketched the one porch…And later on the beach I sketched Mum as she watched the Critters playing in the water.]
Monday, the Critters found kids to play with! They had been there all the days we had, but it took them that long to start talking to each other! *falls over* [Yeah, the day everyone is packing up to leave is the day they all decide to make friends. *laughs*] Sonja got their phone number and address…They don’t even live that far away!
Did get an idea for Konmei’s costume. [Konmei being my ninja character.] I still have a bit of work to do on it though…I don’t have a top figured out. [Also came to the conclusion yesterday, while wandering around the cold, as it was raining and icky at school, in my trench…My trench would make the perfect pattern for Akatsuki robes. *laughs* *is mental* I know, I know. *grins* But I is fun!]
Tuesday was the Critters first day of school…Sonja had a bit of a meltdown, worrying about not having any friends…But I talked to her, and had her feeling better before she left.
Thursday they had an Open House at the Fine Arts Building at college. They also had a door prize drawing…They wanted a little kid for the audience to pick the names…Harley had wandered off with Reese…The other little girl on the other side of the room was nearly asleep…That left Sonja (and Padfoot, as she had him with her. *shakes head* *laughs*)…Anyway…The first name Sonja draws out…Mine! *laughs* So I have a $25.00 gift certificate to the college bookstore…Sonja is saying she gets $10.00 of it for drawing my name. *laughs* *huggles her* She’s so bloody cute.
Friday (That’s today again.)…Critters were not happy about going to school…Mostly because they knew after school they would have to be going to their father’s house. Harley at one point said he was going to ride the bus home anyway. [I think he felt a little better when he found out it would be AJ picking them up after school, not either one of the other two.]
Oh yeah…Tuesday…Two things…On the way home, I guess one of the other kids on the bus hit Harley…Apparently Sonja and Shiley (the neighbour man’s step-daughter & one of Sonja’s friends) scared the evil child that was mean to my boy. [I think Sonja has realized that only she is allowed to be mean to her brother, and that she can do something about it.]
The other moment of the day…Brett (one of the evil step-sisters) told Sonja (for what-ever drunk reason), that she was going to have to go to her father’s after school…Shiley decided t
o express her opinion on the matter, and flipped Brett off. [Yeah, I know…Not something that one should encourage in such young children…As she is only a 3rd grader, but Brett deserved it…And probably a lot more…Considering Sonja has asked me if she can start rumours about Brett, as Brett has already been starting some about her. I told her that wasn’t very nice, and if she was going to say something about Brett, make she it was truthful…And embarrassing. *smirks* Hey, I can’t help it, the evil child deserves it.]
&…I’ve tossed up my first Creative Writing assignment in the college chapter.
Her Childhood Home. I just turned it in Wednesday, so I don’t know how it’s been received. We’re not getting actually graded on the first couple assignments, so I don’t know how it’s going to work for sure.
I realized that Creative Writing has like lot of reading. *noods* That Assinment seems very good exersizse *noods* I know what you mean by the RPG thing.

gosh you’ve been busy, and maybe you’re right, maybe thats whats distracted you from RPG. I blame not lack of ideas, but the inability to write them in a way I’m happy with. But we all have that anxiety I think *kicks hurricane* Oh and good for you getting your homework done, the assignment sounds quiet amazing :] I’m sure you’ll do great! All the kids are back to school and I’m all lonesome 🙁

*hugs you* i am sure they will love the stories. i remember i loved reading them, even if they were very much not what i wanted for her.

i remember the diazepam storyline… wow long time ago… i was writing back then, i look back and wonder how i could write so many ideas and be confident in them, weird isn’t it lol the best writers do that where they describe what the character is doing and feeling expecting you to pick out their character traits, i sometimes try that, it’s hard lol good luck! ninja toys oooh 😛 xxx

I did the same thing the other day. I ended up reading everything I wrote for Aundrena – more so for the fact that I was bored and could not log into this one.

My creativity must be waning…I can’t write like I used to, either. Derrick will be working double shifts for a couple of days, too, to catch up on time missed because of the hurricane. It sounds like you had muches of the fun on your camping trip! The Critters returned to school while I was without power. lol. Yay for having your name drawn at Open House! Eh, I would go to the office about Brett…Teach them that it isn’t right to start rumors. If Ann has any sense, she will put a stop to it; I know I would if a parent told me my child was behacing as such. *HUGS*

I mis family camping trips…they were so fun as a kid (now my parents refuse to bring their kids on any such adventures). It’s nice to hear Sonja standing up for her brother…sounds like she can hold her own too.
