Needs help with homework…
Okay…The moment you’ve all been waiting for…You get to help me with my homework! *laughs* I had to write this survey for English class to work on my topic (I really don’t know how her version of notes is really suppose to help me with my essay…But whatever, I have to do them anyway).
My topic is something along the lines of there being too much value placed on labels…(i.e. Stereotypes). So here is my survey thing…
1.) Do you find yourself being labelled as belonging to a particular group of people?
2.) If so, how do you feel about being labelled thusly?
3.) Do you think grouping people under certain labels can have departmental effects on a person?
4.) If you consider yourself as part of a particular labelled group, and someone calls you something from another group, do you take offence? Why?
5.) Would you not communicate (talk to, associate, etc.) with someone because they belonged to a certain labelled group?
There is other stuff…But I will get to that laters…I’ll have to do a day by day thing for. [Thursday and Fridays.]
So yeah…Be nice and fill out answers for my survey. Pretty please. *blinkies*
i dont think anyone else can answer these for you. it has to be about you and what group you’re associated with. then decide your own views on stereotypes.

1.) frequently dear. 2.) some days it aggravates me to no end. 3.) absolutely! not everyone likes having to live up to some expectation and they DO when labeled. 4.) sometimes it is very annoying but usually because i hate labeling people and having them label me. 5.) i think that would depend on the group they belong to. some are just not worth the pain of getting to know.. but if i knew them first and then found out they belonged to whatever, i would still talk to them.

*pokes at the unsigned note…* People these days… I, to my knowledge.. have never been associated with a specific group. (how weird is that? Lol) 3. I do think that especially if it’s others labeling people, instead of people themselves (as that happens too.. people saying “I’m this, I’m that” etc..) can be. But it does depend on the people. 5. I don’t really care what others are labeled…

I just talk to everyone, if I’m in a talkative mood. 😀 Lol (isn’t much help)

1. At times. 2. I don’t mind. It’s an aspect of me that other people clearly see in me. [Though, I can see a downfall to such…Most of us are guilty of judging others; labels are just another way to do that. Still, we can’t control what others think about us.] 3. Depends on the person, I think. There are those who don’t mind being grouped, and then others who might feel outcasted from others if they don’t belong to a certain group. 4. I do label myself, but considering the stereotype of which I feel apart, I don’t see how a person could confuse me with another group. *lol* I kind of make it a point to show who I am on the outside. 5. I’ll talk to anybody. Despite what some might believe, people in one group can have common intersts, etc. with people from another group. People, no matter what group/label they feel they belong to, should give others a chance without judging them.

1.) I find it amusing that I’m usually labelled as either [most frequently] punk or emo. 2.) I’ve not got a problem being called a punk. Sometimes being called emo aggravates me, but that’s only because of the way some people say it or take it to mean. 3.) Yes, I do believe it does. Though, some people aren’t. It depends on the person, I suppose. 4.) I’ll take offence at times, because, like I said above, of the meaning people use it in. Kinda hard to explain, I guess, lol. 5.) No. I like talking to all kinds of people. People can actually be friendly, sometimes, lol. ♥

1) People who sit in the corner and play cards – aside form that nothing really… 2) Fair enough really, it’s what we do 3) Depends on the label… But they’re never really good so yeah it can have some effects on people. Especially if they’re pretty bad 4) Offence is a funny way of putting it, normally just laugh it off. Ignore them it’s just a new form of bullying 5) I’ll talk to anyone 🙂

1.) Not so much now as when I was in high school. 2.) – 3.) I think it depends on what the label is. 4.) Again, it would depend on what the label was. I’d much rather be thrown in with the punks than with, say, the stoners. Not that someone would ever mistake me for either, but you get my point. 5.) Nope, I got along fabulously with people from every different “group” in my school.
