My rat & my boy…And some mundane things.

Okay…Here goes my attempt to explain this to the masses. [Tis not like a brief comparison hasn’t been made previously by others…I’m just delving a bit more perhaps.]

So without any further ado…My boy & my rat. *grins*

Peter and Neville both started out in fairly the same status, though Neville wasn’t actually part of the main group [Golden Trio] as Peter was the Marauders [Despite ignorant Muggles writing fan fiction that totally forgets he ever existed…Okay…Bit sensitive on that topic…Anyway…]. Starting out, they are both describe as being sub par wizards…

"Hero-worshiped Black and Potter. Never quite in their league, talent-wise. I was often rather sharp with him…Stupid boy…Foolish boy…He was always hopeless at dueling…" -Minerva McGonagall, speaking about Peter. (PA10)

This, no doubt, is a line of thought that a lot of the students and professors took towards Peter…Including his own friends. He was the last to become an animagus, something that James and Sirius would likely like to drag up as a point of teasing (I’m sure we can all see them doing it too, the size of the egos those two had). He was a bit of an after thought, yes they let him hang out with them, but was it because he was really someone they considered and cherished as a good friend, or was it because he provided a constant audience for their antics. He was obviously underestimated [12 Muggles one spell (while cutting off his own finger & transforming)…That had to take some kind of talent…Okay, not his greatest moment, but it’s not like Rowling really let him have any either], and thought ‘safe’. Sirius’s reason for declining the post of Secret Keeper for the Potters, and having Peter do it…Who would suspect Peter? He was pretty much, and after thought. This, when someone wants recognition, wants to know they are appreciated, and that they mean something, that their friends have faith in them, tends to make one vulnerable to other forces. By the time Peter was given even this little bit of recognition [As I’m sure being made Secret Keeper would of meant a great deal prior, even as a second thought], it was too late. [Personally, I would really like to know what did happen…How did Voldemort secure Peter into the ranks of Death Eater…I’m still of the thought it involved deception, and torture. Peter was scared, and didn’t want to die. Why should he have died for friends who treated him like a second class citizen…And granted, he may not have thought of it like that in the beginning…But we all know Voldemort has ways to twist even your most brief thoughts and worries around to his own advantage…Taking insecurities and feeding off them. Not going to tell me Tommy didn’t take a peek inside Peter’s mind, and discern what line of thoughts…And taunts…Wouldn’t do the most damage.]

Had Sirius and James given it a little thought…Treated their friend a bit better…Had faith in his abilities, and let him know he was important, and not just a hanger on, but that he actually mattered…Perhaps he wouldn’t of been so susceptible. A little bit of kindness can go a long way, as I’m sure many of you can attest to…And I’m about to make a point of, I hope.

Neville’s own family thought he could very well be a squib, much to the annoyance of his grandmother, who even after it was decided there was some magical ability in the boy, still insisted he’d never be as good as his father. [Pretty high expectations to be held up to.] Neville faced a lot of the same thoughts by those around him as Peter did, save for the fact that his friends did try to foster a belief in himself, as seen in OotP when he declared himself hopeless during a DA meeting, and instead of agreeing with him, Harry instead attempted to show him how to improve…When he showed improvement after a particularly hard go of it, his friends celebrated his victories with words of congratulations. This praise did wonders to build his self-worth, giving him the strength to continue to grow, and even (as seen in the movie version of OotP) stand up to Bellatrix Lestrange…And have the strength of will to fulfill Harry’s ‘last wish’ and take out that bloody snake! *does the Nagini dies dance* Hehehe.

Had he not gotten the encouragement, would he have faltered and gone to Voldemort’s side? No, I don’t believe so, as one simple fact would of held him from doing such, the memory of his parents, and his love for them. Still…Without that, he could of very well been vulnerable. Had Peter had some such ideal to hang on to, perhaps he wouldn’t have been led astray as such either.

Okay…On to the usual and mundane things…

Made a third attempt at Algebra…Brain could handle it a bit better today…Though I still couldn’t grasp the actual graphing…I can graph, but to graph out the slope…It throws me off. Blah. *pokes it with sticks*

Other than that…Not much else…Have to manage to get my Poppy report done in the next two weeks…O.o On top of that…We’re going to be having a change in teacher around the same time. Blah. *sends the incoming one back to stay at home with her new squishy* Come on, just take the rest of the semester off, it’ll be good for the two of you. *nods*
[Will be getting my quiz grade back tomorrow…Blah, so not looking forward to that one.]

Another C is Psych…Pretty sure that is going to be my standard for the semester.

English Project #2 is due at the end of the month…A proposal is due on the 4th…First draft on the 6th…*attempts to remember the second draft date*…I think it was the 18th…Don’t hold me to it…And I’m too bloody lazy to look it up.

*pokes at flat paper* I downloaded a map building program last night…I can’t get it figured out. So I resorted back to paper and pencil. I’ve got a land mass drawn out…And some mountains on the one little island…There is a little thing that resembles a rolo in the middle of the mountain range…It’s suppose to be a volcano.
It’s for the inkling of a thought for my NaNoWriMo story…It’s a very small inkling…Not sure I can pull it off into anything though.
Think anyone would be interested in a story whose ‘heroin’ is a poppet? *laughs*

Okay…Shouldn’t be thinking about that writing…Have plenty of other writing I’ve got to get going and done. I need to attempt some more research. *nods* Yeshes. Need to write more roleplay too…Should update Naamah’s entry…Snakie has some words to share with the world. *laughs*

I am off to do something…Just haven’t figured out what yet. *skips off*

Log in to write a note

I think that my brain is too drugged up on allergy meds for a proper note. Cool look at Peter and Neville. This note sucks.

*claps & cheers* Very good point made about Peter and Neville, sis. *nods fervently* I completely agree with you, of course, as you know. *pets Peter* He has a good heart, which was sadly ran over one too many times by those he beheld as supposed friends. *kicks James & Sirius* Despite our nicknames given as such, we’d never do that to Peter. *shakes head* *hugs him* *hugs Nevilletoo for good measure* *lol* *pokes at the homework front* Blah of the ness for homework! [Not that I have anything to complain about anymore. *giggles*] *hugs* I shall try and be of the helpfuls to you come next semester. Yesh! (As the only thing I can really do with distance in the way is read your essays.) I think you should go for NaNoWriMo. *nods* You is my talented sissy, and the most excellent writer!! Yay RPG! *pokes at Naamah* *lol* *hugs*
