English was not exactly fun..but I’ve got a mouse.
Let’s see…The day…
It started with waking up and getting the Critters fed and ready for school. Which went fairly well…Harley had a bit of a shoe fit…Deciding his tennis shoes were too small, and that he didn’t want to wear them. [I think it was more that he wanted to wear his gym shoes instead…But he didn’t get to do that either.] He ended up wearing his water shoes, because I told him he couldn’t wear his sandals with his socks…And he amazingly wasn’t pitching a fit over wearing socks! *laughs*
Sonja took an extra long time in the bathroom…She came out with eye shadow and lip-gloss on. She actually did a really good job with it. *falls over*
Took them to school…Came home…Printed off my English Quiz…After adding a bit more to it.
By 9:32 AM I was putting a mouse in a fish tank…They seem to be coming in now that our cat population (including our mouser) has dwindled.
The Critters are absolutely thrilled to have it…Want to keep it as a pet. I keep telling them no, it’s going to get released somewhere once we get some more gathered up…As there has to be more somewhere.
I used an empty kleenex box and a composition notebook. *laughs*
Went to school…And was surprised to see Jon and Cinda walking down the sidewalk on campus! They are going to the Culinary Arts program apparently.
Prior to English starting, I scribbled out something for Pysch that I was suppose to write yesterday, and didn’t get done. [Typed it up tonight, fixed it a bit.]
English. *sigh* Was not fun today in the least. Though I’m feeling better about it now. *hugs Raya* It always helps to have someone special and important to talk to about such things.
Anyway…We split into groups…Well most people split into groups. I was left as a group of one. No one invited me…And I was too shy/scared/etc. to ask to join anyone’s group. They formed so quickly!
We were to take a cliché’ type statement, and do some analyzing to find deeper points to it, coming up with 3 or 4. Things such as: ‘What doesn’t kill us, only makes us stronger’…’Nice guys finish last’…’You don’t know what you got til it’s gone’…etc.
I picked…’Blood is thicker than water’.
I came up with 7 on my own…Though 2 of them were related/connected to 2 of the other ones.
One of the points I made was that sometimes there are people outside of the family, outside of the bloodline, that are just as, if not more, supportive…That they can mean more to you than others of your own bloodline…That despite not being of your blood, they are still family.
Guess you can say Raya and her importance to me, not only as my friend, but as my sister helped me on this ‘group’ project. [Then she helped me afterwards as well.]
In all honesty…I was feeling quite crushed…Remembering how it felt never to be a part of anything…Kind of like always being the last one picked for a team, no matter how good you may have been, or not have been, at the game you were playing.
I very nearly cried a couple times. But I sucked it up, and went to work on the assignment.
Algebra was Algebra…
Some MSN Bits from the other night
*odd discussion about hats & Critters previously*
Bill says:
I got nothin.
Raven says:
*giggles*
*hugs*
Mes?
Bill says:
Wants to only be of the equal… thats all. If I gots you, then you have me.
Raven says:
*smiles*
We got into some strange conversation last night…Guess I’ll put it here too…But feel free to ignore it.
Bill says:
As you wish.
Raven says:
*feels like somehow I can transported into The Princess Bride* *giggles*
Raven says:
got not can…How did can get in there? lol
Bill says:
That is an interesting comparison.
Raven says:
*shrugs* Just know the guy says that line to her lots. *smiles*
Bill says:
Was just thinking about the two versions of him.
Raven says:
Ohs?
Bill says:
Curious did you like the pirate version, or the farmboy better?
Raven says:
Never really thought about it before…Though I suppose their is always something about a rogue that is intriguing. *shrugs*
Bill says:
interesting.
Raven says:
Still…He was a sweet guy, either way…The playing at pirate couldn’t take that from him, not really.
Bill says:
Guess that’s true.
Raven says:
He is after all him…Just a diffrent facade presented to the world.
Bill says:
facade? Don’t know that one.
Raven says:
face…Like the front presented. A mask of sorts.
Bill says:
o
Bill says:
So as a pirate was he being false to a degree.
Bill says:
As perhaps he was playing a part.
Raven says:
That could be a way to look at it.
He was, at his core, the farmboy that he had been all that time. The pirate was perhaps a part of who he was, but not the full of him. He was magnifying an aspect of a part of him…If that makes sense.
Bill says:
mostly.
Bill says:
do you think that his experiences on the high seas had changed him?
Raven says:
I’m sure there were some changes, one can’t go through life and not have some kind of change present itself.
Perhaps it gave him a better sense of himself…Gave him more insight, the ability to tap into latent things…Like being able to be more courageous than he would of been without the experience.
Bill says:
I think I understand better.
Raven says:
*smiles*
Suppose I’ll be going for now…I’ve got a two page rough draft I’m suppose to have done by Thursday for English…My first quiz over the first chapter in Psych tomorrow…Not sure what’s going on in Plant Bio.
*skips off*

*hugs* Glad I could be of some help. Interesting convo. over the movie. *lol*

Aww, this may not help… but sometimes it’s easier to come up with ‘group projects’ on your own than in groups, as especially when they form that quick… sometimes the people want to talk more than work. I dislike group projects very much because of that… lol Algebra…STINKS!!! yay for msn tidbits!
Warning Comment
awwwww you and Bill! *huggles* Still, aside from English being a bit weird am glad things are going… ok And as for the mouse, if you dont want it can I have it? Peeeeeeeez, since Biscuit it’s been lonely. Even without Nicola I could use a furry thing to keep me company… 🙁 Still, Sonja wears better make up than me? *collapses*

Algebra sucks. The End. ♥

You know, in my undergrad days, I often found myself the freakish outcast in group projects. I stole the opportunity to express my unique opinion and show off my intelligence…to prove that I didn’t need the help of a group to function. Shortly, after people learned that I was not only a freak but a smart and brave one (I was never scared to speak my mind no matter how ‘out there’), people…

wanted me in their groups…which was a new experience for me. So don’t feel left out and don’t let your shyness block your intelligence and talent from shining through. You are an excellent writer, and should do very well in English class (and all the others as well). You have a right to show off and be proud that you don’t need three other people to analyze cliches! *lol* *hugs*

I’m reading the Princess Bride currently…quite similar to the movie. As for your own group…yup living as an outsider sucks in those situations…it is I suppose easie to see the flaws of the insiders from the outside…thats what I like to tell myself, whether or not its true. I’m sure folks in class will soon see your genuis and always want you in there groups.

I know it sucks to feel like that 🙁
