A day late
Saturday:
We (Me, Mum, and the Critters) were suppose to go to a flea market…but when we drove by the place, we didn’t see where it was at, so we decided to go get some jerky in Brevort. And on the way, we also decided that since it wasn’t that much further, we’d go to the Garlyn Zoo . When we got there we found out it was also kids day, so we didn’t have to pay for the Critters. It’s got both native and ‘exotic’ (non-native) animals.
Most of the deer were off hiding in the shade, not caring if they got any treats or not. They also have a bunch of goats that you can feed. The one goat stole the icecream cone full of grain out of Sonja’s hand. Harley threw his cone into the pen after it was empty. Guess neither one of them quite knew how to handle them yet. *laughs* They’ve got a big black bear (which Mum thinks we might have one of those sleeping by our blackberry brambles at night…which happens to be in the front yard. *shrugs* I don’t know). There were also racoons (Oooo…*laughs*), skunks, wolf-hybrids, coyotes (yeah!), otters, cougar, and a bison. Then on the non-native side of things there were peacocks, an alligator, a wallaby, a lemer, some patagonian cavys, and some things I’m sure I’m forgetting about.
The kids enjoyed it. Sonja wants to go back tomarrow already. *laughs*
On the way back we stopped for the jerky in Brevort. Yummies!
I also picked up some material today…some white to make me a shirt, and probably plenty of extra to make some other things…and some black to make Harley’s pants for Halloween, some have plenty to make me some pants, and a skirt, and probably have more left over for other things of it too. They were each only $1.00 a yard…so I could get extra with no worries.
I’ve got a long teal vest made…the pattern says small…but it’s still way big looking on me, even bigger than it should be…I know it’s suppose to be somewhat big. I haven’t decided if I’m going to add any ornamental designs to it or not. I don’t want it to be too overstated…just something nice.
I was going to start work on some of the sewing, but we didn’t get back from the U.P. until nearly 10.
Got pulled over for a tail light being out. Luckily the cop wasn’t an idiot, as we had my Jeep…and it’s loverly bungie-cord door. Needless to say, as the information has been taken down, there will be no more driving the Jeep until it can be fixed. Still didn’t say anything about the windshield where Harley bounced his head off it. And I’m not going to worry anymore that Tawny hanging from the rear-view mirror is going to get me into trouble.
Grimmie is coming to visit. He bought his plane tickets online tonight. Now I have to figure out how to entertain the boy for a week. I know one day I’ll take him and the Critters to Dinosaur Gardens.
‘Ello! I bring you the gift of… a Blogathon entry with you in mind! http://www.opendiary.com/entryview.asp?authorcode=D429390&entry=20486&mode=chapter&chapter=4 ~

I don’t have a thing for them! I meant cute as in like a kitty cat. And I promise I don’t have a thing for kitty cats. I really liked him – he made me giggle at points during the movie when I probably shouldn’t have giggled…

awww i love Zoos, but theres none close to me… and I tried feeding the pigeons in trafalgar square when I went to London! Too many pigeons, I was nearly suffocated by feathers… besides the point What’s a jerkie? *chides self for being so British* I just always wanted to know lol I hate when the cops pull my dad over… Still it’s only the tail light he was worried about lol Yaaay for Grim!

I like zoos. They’re cool. I might worry if I thought a bear was sleeping in my yard. 🙁

Dinosaur Gardens sound like fun! I’ve been interested in dinosaurs since I was very young. Remember when I told you my childhood dream was to be a Paleontologist? Heh. I want to see the wolfie-hybrids! *laughs* Yay for alligators, too. That’s funny…in your zoo, gators are exotic. In Louisiana, they’re native. *laughs* With all this Halloween costume making, haveyou decided what you’re going to dress up as? Or were you going to make a Lilin|Raven costume?
