Theological Thoughts
Yes, fully aware my darling sister bared her soul as thus a few days ago. Due in part, I’m sure, to our loverly three hour phone conversation that lasted until six in the morning. *laughs* She is progress quite well from her fears, and hopefully seeing others able to share their thoughts and beliefs will continue to help her on her way. As once, I was afraid to tell her, one who I can share anything with, of my own beliefs, due to the fear that I could of lost her. Gladly, she is an open-minded individual…And I think she pretty much knew already anyway. *grins* She’s like that. *laughs*
So here it goes…
The Greater Universal Power (Godlike Energy)
I
————————–
I I
The God The Goddess
I I
————- ————-
I I I I
(Then severl Gods and Goddess, that focus on something in particular.)
Not sure the little graph thing makes it clear. But this is how I see the relations of things. There is a greater force out there, that of which many just refer to as God. I see it more as a central energy force, that which all things come from. Then the power is broken down into, if you will, a masculine and feminie energy, seen as a God and a Goddess. Then from there, the God, and the Goddess, take on more specific aspects, making it a more personal experience between the individual and their God/Gods. All of them are part of one big whole, but instead of focusing on that whole, one focus’s on an aspect.
Such as someone who wishes to commune with nature may call about the Goddess in her aspect of Artemis/Diana…Someone who is looking for help in love, Aphrodite/Venus, etc. etc. I personally don’t even hold to specifiuc pantheon. I call to Bast during travel, as it is one of many things the cat goddess has power over, Artemis is kind of like my patron goddess ( My third tattoo being a cresent mood -in the waxing, or maiden stage- as well as a tri-colored feather. The tri-color feather being the symbol of the goddess Chislev from DragonLance, who is nature incarnate). Further more, I don’t think you are even require to stick to a name that has been handed down through the ages. (As such, I’ve seen a couple around here refer to God as Bob after a particularly trying time. The name does not matter, it’s what the individual puts into it.) *wonders if any of that managed to make sense*
A list of other things I believe/put my faith into
1) Reincarnation/Past Lives…I’ve lived before, I know it, it’s as simple as that. The things I’ve learned carry on inside my soul. Sometimes making themselves known, sometimes not so readily. (The belief in reincarnation is one that I’ve had since elementary school. I read a great deal about Ancient Egypt, as it was quite fasinating to me. Reincarnation spoke to me then, and has continued to through the rest of my life. So we’re talking a belief that’s already stretched through two decades of my life, and it’s not likely to change anytime soon-or ever.)
2) Karma is out there. (Sometimes referred to as the law of three as well.) If you do something, no matter for good or bad, it’s going to come back to you. If you are sending out negative energy, negative energy is going to return to you. On the other hand, if you’re sending out positive energy, that is what you are going to get in return.
3) Pagan paths usually acknowledge 8 seaonal sabbaths. (Though is does vary from path to path). These are my holidays (even though I do not always give them the proper recognition that they deserve). When I was still qutie young (another one of those elemetary days), I found marked on the calander the Summer Solstice. From there I also found the winter one, as well as the equinoxs. I knew, instinctively, that they were suppose to be something more than dates on a calander. Something more than just the changing of the seasons. Inside myself, I knew they were something to be celebrated.
4) I believe that all of nature is sacred, and should be held as such. Nature is after all what makes up our world. Without it, there would be no world. Unfortantly, there are too many people in the world that aren’t taking care of it, and letting it be destroyed. There will come a time when nature will repay those in kind (Gee…What is with all those natural disastors of late? Think maybe it’s a wake up call? So bloody well wake up already people!)
I believe there is power in the elements. They do, after all, make up everythying that is in exsistence. [We are what, something like 80% water? We breath in the air. A fire burns within us. And our bodies shall become part of the Earth -save me, as I’m packing myself in peat moss, as I have issues. *laughs*- That leaves the fifth element, that of spirit, which is, after all, the soul that lives within us, giving us this life we live.]
5) I believe in the ablility to Astral Project, though I can’t focus enough, or relax enough to actually accomplish it myself. I can’t even meditate…as my mind is always seemingly too busy. Though I did on one occasion, a few years back, have an experience of my astral form shape shifting…That was a great experience, and one I do wish I could repeat…but I believe it was a gift for a good deed. And one that I will carry within my heart for the rest of my days.
6) I believe in the healing power of herbs. They were used for medical means way before modern medicine came on the scene…besides, many of todays medicines are derived from the old medical uses. I’m not sure why modern medicine seem to think they can make man-made version of natural things and have it be better…seems to me, they should stick to the natural versions, just put in the effort it takes to learn about them properly.
I’m sure there are other minor things that I just can not remeber to put up at this point. And I’m pretty sure I’m forgetting something.
I think you and Raya have started a trend! People are forever asking me why I’m an atheist, so I might just do this. ~

That is all very interesting info about yourself & your beliefs. As I said to Raya, thanks for being open enough to share it. I think that so many people are afraid to share because of attacks they might receive. Even if you are strong in your own beliefs, you should still be open minded. I think that you have some amazing & strong points/ beliefs here. Makes me wonder what I really believe in…

it would seem that you and i share many of the same beliefs :o)

*hugs* Seems like you’re getting positive response, too. Herbal healing is one I did forget to add to my list, as you know, I don’t like doctors, going to hospitals, ect. And herbs don’t have a dozen side-effects and illnesses that’ll develop 10 years later. *shakes head* Modern medicine kills more than it aids. And I did add the acknowledgement of the Sabbats, after you read

my entry that night. You know, not only did I know your beliefs prior to you telling me, but I’ve also studied and understand them. I remember very distinctly the first time I researched Pagan. In Junior High, Ashley and I looked up some stuff on the Internet and came across a spell that invoked Diana. Since then, I’ve learned a lot more and hope to continue. *hugs* Perhaps,

with your help. Further more, I don’t think you are even require to stick to a name that has been handed down through the ages. Cole! *laughs* More of our conversation is coming back to me. Heh. *hugs* Lastly, thanks for sharing your beliefs, as well, and having the courage to do so. We helped each other. *smiles* ~

i doubt this has anything to do with anything but i found this quote from a story about you 🙂 “And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door, That I scarce was sure I heard you’ – here I opened wide the door; – Darkness there, and nothing more.” Edgar Allan Poe, “The Raven” i thought it sounded nice… well creepy but made me think of you for some odd reason lol xxx

i agree with the name thing! It doesnt matter what you call him so long as you believe in him and it’s my method ok… *laughs* weird method but it’s a method all the same and I do believe in Karma, tis everywhere and I like to think if I make people smile I might get it in return, or maybe I’m just too hard to please… Still I like the idea of the gods who take homage in different aspects too!
