morning ramblings

morning sunshine.. it has started out to be a beautiful day again even though it was a bit chilly at the bus stop. I put shorts on Malachai because yesterday she wore pants and was hot all day long.. so it was either be chilly in the am or hot in the pm…

I have a small list of must dos today, starting with cleaning up the kitchen and ending with putting all of Chai’s clothes away… she has so many clothes it’s crazy. I also have to pack Chai’s bag for her weekend with her gma.. she’s so excited. She’ll get to see her aunt Nikki, Uncle Joe and her little cousins too. And lets not forget her cat lol.. she claimed one of her gmas cats as her own the first time she went for a visit over a year ago.

Dad wasn’t mad at all about shaving Sadie yesterday, which surprised both me and mom.. and she doesn’t look as bad as I first thought.. although her face looks funny because she would only let me do the top of her head… looks like she’s got a tan or something on her nose/mouth area.

I finished my assignments last night, got those turned in on time…  have a paper to write for later today, although it’s not due until midnight.. so I have a bit of time before I have to ramble thought that.. this weeks goals are to have my assignments done early so I don’t feel like I’m pressed for time, the others are due on sunday, so I’d like to have them done by saturday at the latest.

I’m not doing a whole lot at the moment, just chilling out on my bed, with all four animals sprawled out on it too.. watching band of brothers.. it is my favoirite historical drama. Just seeing what the 101st airborne went through, seeing how E company prevailed through the war, loosing members along the way starting with the misdrops into France, it makes me thankful to have what I have, even with all the curve balls that I’ve been thrown. I did a bit of reading last night, mainly some of my older entries, I’ve come a long way since the begining of this little diary of mine. And life has thrown me quite a few curve balls, so  hopefully I’ve had my fair share and nothing too harsh is around the corner lol. As buffy sang in the musical episode "lifes a show and we all play our part" everyone has to deal with something in their life that they would rather ignore. And believe me I’ve had plenty that I wanted to ignore, but I mucked through it and eventually everything started going right again.

There is less than two months of school left for Chai and Kia. Summer is approaching faster than I had expected it to. Kia is planning prom night for him and Taylor. Still haven’t found a horse and carriage for him, going to look at party rental places hoping they have one. Graduation is just around the corner for him, and he’s getting a bit nervous about it. It’s a big change for him, leaving what he knows and is comfortable with for another school, with new people. Although he does have one friend who’s going to the same college and she just happens to be his best friend since kindergarten, so that will help him with the transition from high school senior to college freshman. We have a lot of family plans for this summer, starting with Sunday when we pick Chai up from her gmas, we are going to a Clippers baseball game. Next weekend is our zoo and cosi trip, we’re going to the zoo on Saturday, spending the night in a hotel and then going to cosi on Sunday. Chai wants to go to kinds island this year, so that is being planned for June/July. I can’t wait to take her there, she was so excited when I told her we were going to go. We’ll also have camping on the river with my aunt, her b/f owns land on the river, so it’s a nice little get away. Plus we’ll have all the parades and festivals that Chai has to attend as the 2nd runner up of the Indian Mound Festival. Add softball to that and she’s going to be one busy little 6 year old. We had planned on buying another pool pass this year, but I’ve been told that they’ve raised their prices, so I still don’t know about that yet.

Kia’s blood and chest xray results were fine.. he doesn’t like having to go every month for it, but it’s better to be cautious and able to catch something if the cancer decides to come back. He also has to have a CT every other month, which he has to drink that barium stuff which makes him sick. He doesn’t see why he has to go, but I know it’s because the stuff makes him sick for a few days. He has until January to do it monthly and then he has to go every 3 months next year, then it will be every 6 months for 2012 and eventually just once a year. I hope that he’s right and it won’t come back. It’s already messed up his military plans, I don’t want him not being able to attend college because he gets sick again.

LoL Kia just texted me… he has poison ivy…he and Taylor went on a hike yesterday…

Anyway I’m going to end this ramble, get busy on my must do list.. maybe I’ll start with the letter to our new soldier 🙂 Speaking of which there are now 932 soldiers waiting to be adopted.. the number went up 100 since yesterday… http://www.soldiersangels.com be an angel…adopt a hero 😛

More later, probably night ramblings lol

*hey rach, got an email from Chris.. he said site is down cause it was hacked, and he doesn’t have home internet still… so he closed it until he can fix it. Said he’s thinking of streaming again a couple nights a week.. i just might offer to do a set… i kind of miss being a dj lol.. it was fun. means i’ll have to steal Kia’s music files since I have of yet to build mine back up. Chris said that he’s in the process of getting internet set back up, so it shouldn’t be too long before he has it up again.

Haven’t seen Band of Brothers, but that’s been one of those that I’ve really been meaning to pick up. Never heard anything bad about it. Been a WWII buff most of my life, tho I prefer the Pacific Theater. ‘Course, I’m a Navy guy, so…heh LOL @ Chai claiming the cat. I always loved staying at the gparent’s house, esp. if my cousin Sean was in town. Fun times all around.

RYN: Yeah, well, most kids tend to be better in school than they are for their parents, so if she’s a good kid for you then she’s bound to be a rockstar at school. 🙂 Hope she keeps it up for everyone’s sake & sanity (mostly yours) Well, thanks! I’m flattered the history’s being “reviewed”…lol. Read as much as you like, I don’t mind. 😉 So what are you torn between, careerwise?

Band of Brothers is one of my favs. You should check out Pacific on HBO. Not as good as BoB, but still worth a watch.
